The season of the great game is finally upon us. This is without a doubt my favorite time of year. Hopefully a busy schedule won't keep me from getting to check out a few games a night. Good luck to everyone here this season. It's gonna be a fun one.

.........Valdes vs Lackey. Hum, what to do what to do. Tonight will be a celebration continued for the Angels as the championship ceremonies will be held before the game. Disney will start a kid that was nails during the world series no doubt hoping in part to build his confidence with the opening day nod, and because he should match up well against the Rangers. The Angels offense doesn't look like much on paper, but they got it done in every way possible.
Valdes is a ground ball pitcher who will rely on his command and the defense behind him to keep them in the game. The Rangers offense is deep, and ready to go to work for their new boss. Narron was a whipping boy last year. Buck Showalter will command respect from his players and 110% every game. Juan Gonzalez is in a contract year and just divorced his 117th wife, so watch for him to try and stay healthy while at the same time adding to his resume for next season. For Juan, it's all about what's best for him.
I like the Rangers in this spot, not becuase I'm a fan with wishful thinking, but because they NEED this game. There are several question marks around their pitching staff, and Valdes will show why he is a 8-12 game winner but can keep them in every game.
Good luck.
