when I said there are many liberals rooting against war--try this one on--
Now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:

Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson (search), husband of outed CIA agent Valerie Plame, says he wanted the Iraq constitution to be rejected because he said that would force the U.S. to "go back to the drawing board" on its Iraq policy. Wilson told an audience at San Francisco State University Thursday that he was ashamed of his country, which he said had turned into "just another imperial power who has unleashed the dogs of war."

The Oakland Tribune reports that when Wilson was asked if he'd consider running for public office, he replied that he'd had "too many wives and taken too many drugs. And yes, I did inhale."

So you dont think going back to the drawing board on our Iraq policy is a good idea?

You impress me more and more with your tunnel vision daily.

Where did this statement say he was rooting against the war or our soldiers?

What's wrong with Wilson's comments? Of course we need to go back to the drawing board as Iraq has been a mess for too long. His drug use should not be a factored since we elected a coke addict as President so that should not be a factor

I'm sure DTB was referring to Wilson's comment about hoping the constitution would be voted down, which would not be a good thing in the big picture. Whether you are a conservative or a liberal, sometimes you have to deal with the cards you are dealt, even if the deck is stacked (I kind of like that analogy...you may see that again...). The only way we will hope to see an end to US occupation of Iraq will be for the government to be established (again- whatever THAT means) and the security system to be turned loose (however unprepared and unqualified). If the Constitution is voted down, then there is really no hope of anything in the near future for our soldiers and our occupation.

I take issue with DTB's comment about liberals rooting against the war. Let me be the first one to stand up and say that I am rooting against the war. Anyone who roots FOR a war should certainly be challenged. Other than maybe a Halliburton board member who stands to continually profit from them. War is a bad thing, not a good thing. You know, the old last resort thing.
