Finally I get to meet someone from this place! 
Perpetual Czech has come to lil ol NZ for a wee break and a trip around our beautiful country. He's based in Auckland for a wee while which is just a 90-min drive from where I live so we teed up to meet at a game of cricket in Auckland I was covering for my newspaper yesterday.
Armed with his trusty map, PC found the ground no probs and we spent about 3 hrs chatting away like old mates. He's a top bloke - friendly as hell and a damn smart capper - anyone who can pick up the nuances of cricket as quickly as Jan does has to be on the ball
Chatted about life in general - PC (born in the Czech Republic, raised in Canada) is having a break from capping for a while and just enjoying some travelling while looking at what he's going to do next. So I'm trying to hook him up with a nice - but not tooooo "nice" Kiwi girl
Discussed a bit of capping stuff too - he's much more maths savvy than me so I'll be picking his brains and his databases a lot And I know KC and the Gibber will kick my butt over this but we came up with a few things to look at re half and qtr time bets and corelated parlays
I took my 7-year-old son Niall to the game with me - sports mad, great maths brain, potential future capper in excelsis - and he thought Jan was real cool too.
Dropped PC back up town before I got the chance to sneak him into the media's free lunch as he had some stuff he needed to get for his apartment but we'll catch up again real soon.
Confirmed what I had thought thru e-mails that the Madjackers I communicate with thru the world as just as awesome when u meet them.
