ANGELS/TIGERS UNDER 9 +100 ? The Tigers continue to flounder at the plate, hitting a pathetic .234 over the last 10 games. A return to spacious Comerica Park does not help their cause. Appier is having a fine season for the Halos, with a 3-1 record, 2.83 ERA, and a good WHIP of 1.28 in 41.1 innings. Not surprisingly, his last 3 starts vs. the Tigers have all been Quality Starts, with a 2.75 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP over those outings. Cornejo is not much, but probably his best start of the season came vs. the Angels in Anaheim, when he allowed 2 runs and 7 hits in 7 innings.

Valuist,

You turned out to be 100% correct. My thinking was that the Tigers wouldn't score more than 3 runs (which was actually true), and that if Cornejo pitched well enough to allow only 2 runs in Anaheim, he should be able to contain the Angels to less than 6 runs in this park. So much for that!

We'll go get 'em tomorrow.
