Police bust alleged gambling operation
Greenwood -- A Texas man was arrested over the weekend in what police say was an illegal gambling operation above a Greenwood comedy club and bar.
Bryan W. Collier, 48, faces up to six years in jail and a $20,000 fine on charges of professional gambling and promotion of professional gambling, both felonies. Greenwood police officer Jay Arnold arrested Collier on Saturday after he stumbled upon the operation while investigating graffiti on city buildings, according to a probable cause affidavit.
After Collier's arrest, police seized the contents of a room above One-Liner's Comedy Club at 50 Airport Parkway, including three foldable poker tables, poker chips, several packs of cards, paperwork and a dry-erase board advertising daily tournaments.
