Posted this in Hawkeye's thread....

The FIU/Toledo game -- weather forecast predict storms with 35-40mph winds.... That total was 68' on Monday morning and it has been both adjusted by books trying to get in front of it and also beat down with people betting the under.... I managed to get it at 62.... I wish I had played it at 67-68 because I might be tempted to play the over now or tomorrow and try to hit a middle.... Oh well, guess I will just ride with my under 62....

As always, I appreciate your work and your posts.... :0003

Good luck and as always, appreciate everything you do and post, bro. Thanks. :0008

Doesn't look like either team stops the run so well, so wind may not make a whole lot of difference; and in bahamas, can't be cold.

FIU starting QB -- Morgan led C-USA in both passer rating and yards per attempt while throwing 26 touchdown passes and just seven interceptions.... Morgan was somewhat familiar to Toledo as he threw five touchdown passes against the Rockets in 2016 while starting for Bowling Green, and in his first season with the Panthers, he threw for multiple touchdowns in 10 of his last 11 games.

...but now they are going to have to rely on back-up QB, C. Alexander, a junior who hasn't played much this season. Here's his season stats...

C. Alexander 19 completions on 29 attempts for 65.5% comp for 218 yards, 0 TD's and 1 INT

Guess they will have to rely on their running game without their stud QB at the helm.

That?s more like it, knew there had to be more to it. Thanks, did it say why the QB is not playing?

Still looking.... I haven't found the reason yet, just noticed on the wire that he was out and dug up this info to see how exp the back-up was.... If you find out, please post it....

...but the total started tanking on Monday. It was 68' Monday morning and had already dropped to 58' or 59 before the news on the QB was released.

According to the Miami Herald:

For the second consecutive year, FIU will play its bowl game without its starting quarterback.

FIU Coach Butch Davis said Thursday a sore throwing arm will keep starting quarterback James Morgan out of Friday?s Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl against Toledo.

?In our last game against Marshall, he suffered a small injury in the tricep,? Davis said at the last pregame news conference. ?If the bowl game was another week or 10 days ? he?s very close ? you could?ve said it was game time decision. But to protect his future as a quarterback, we didn?t want to take the risk. ?

Morgan?s backup is Senior Christian Alexander, who threw for 218 yards, one interception and no touchdowns on 19 of 29 passing. Though not as adept a passer as Morgan, Alexander?s a better runner who will occasionally keep the ball on option plays. He ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries (7.0 yards per carry) this season.

A year ago, another Alexander recruited as a quarterback in 2015, current wide receiver/punt returner Maurice Alexander, played most of FIU?s 28-3 Big Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl loss to Temple after four-year starter Alex McGough got hurt on the opening drive.

...you could play the opposite of what I played for shits and giggles. I rarely play teasers in college, but I played Tol -1 & Under 62'

If you liked FIU and over, I could imagine a scenario where both teasers came in, so playing FIU +13 and over 50 might be a winner too.

Regardless, good luck on this one and the rest of your bowl plays. :SIB

Same to you! I've got FIU in my pool so I'll have to pull for them.
