My wife's nephew is going Dec 1st. I have grown pretty close to this kid and had him stay at our house almost every summer for the last 4 or 5 years. I think of him like an older son. I am having a hard time even writing this. Is there anything that anybody that has been there can tell me what to pass on to him to help get him back. If he weren't to come back it would be like losing my own kid. I told him to do whatever it takes to get back.

He is going to be close to the Kuwait/Iraq border from what he has been told guarding prisoners where the ratio is like 200 to 1. Which I thought didn't sound to bad but he was told there is alot of IEDs, ambushes, and mortat attacks on the desolate roads. Also they would most likely be moved more into Iraq later on.

Any help is appreciated and I just want to get this kid home. I think someone(neverteaseit) posted about sending hard candy to give to the kids so they warn of the IEDs. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
