Any Land Rover Owners?? LNSFW

Looking at buying an LR3 before year end. Any one own one of these beasts. How bad are they on gas? I know the old Discoverys did not fair well but want to hear anything on the new ones.

The better half really has her heart set on one and I want so see if anyone has any expereince with them.

I've got the Sport and have driven the LR3 twice while getting my oil changed. It is essentially the Discovery chassis with updated design. Wasn't impressed by the ride compared to the Sport. If you can do it, get the Sport and the woman will be happy.

LR3. That's the Ford Explorer, right. :com: I haven't heard anything bad about the gas mileage. It's probably on par with other SUVs of that size.
