The engine has already locked up and is at an isuzu dealership, I just think his quote for taking it out/tearing it down to determine the exact problem (so the extended warranty people will be satisfied) is way to high, and wanted to get an a few opinions on it, I don't want to say his price so I don't skew any thinking....

:nono: Hey it's 5pm and having my first. Never before 3.

I don't do tear downs anymore. Years ago when things were simplier and I was younger but that is a different story. I guess it would depend on how far you go. I've seen engines that people thought were set up only to find a seized altenator. If you ran it out of oil then you would probably need a short block and go from there. How did it happen? I can get you a ballpark figure but a lot hinges on whats bad or are they tearing down just to figure out the problem?

They are tearing it down just to figure out the problem, extended warranty requires this to make sure it is covered (and if so, the tear down cost is covered as well) if not then I got to pay it out of pocket....So, just wondering a ballpark, to see if this guy's quote is way off or not...
