I am buying a house, finally, and I need to get a lawn mower, would love one of those zero radius turn ones but the cheapest I can find is around 2500 bucks,I will have a little over half a acre to mow with some large trees in the way and I really only want to spend 1000-1500 and I am way out on a push mower even if it pulls itself and even if it was free, really want something that will last and have very little maintanence, any suggestions will helpful

get my e-mail from Jack...glad to tell ya every thing you need to know...

28 accounts..10 years of my own business..

and for goodness sakes don't buy an expensive rider for one damn piece of a little olde half acre of cutting..

w/proper maintance less exspensive riders will last you thousands of cuts..plus you will need bagger For leaves and proper upkeep of lawn...notice I said LAWN:00hour ...not..YARD..:nono:

if you have bermuda, Zoysia, or St. augistine and want your yard to look like a golf course, this is what I use. Best cut is with a reel mower. It sucks for fescue and most rye grass though.

My neighbors and I live on half acre lots. I have the only zero there. I'm usually done in half the time, and my time means alot to me.

I agree a mower will last a long time. That's why I'd bite the bullet and spend the money. I bought mine at the end of season for 2000 and got 12 mos. same as cash. I've had both cheap riders and zeros. I'll never have anything but a zero as long as I'm mowing. Time savings is so worth it.

See if you can get a demo- you'll be sold.

My parents live on 5 acres and used to have a JD 755 with a 60" belly mower. Got a Scag

zero turn and cut their mowing time in half. Bad news is your not going to get one for $2K unless its used. Very well built piece of equipment.
