or if Jawon Pass (Cards QB) is likely to play, I think he's questionable for Saturday. I was impressed with Louisville against Notre Dame, if it hadn't been for the 5 or so fumbles it could have been a much closer game I think. I haven't seen Florida St play but this sure doesn't appear to be one of their best teams; although they played Virginia close to the end in their last game; but they also let UL Monroe play them to the end before that, who knows may ULM has a good team? Any input appreciated on either team.

I think Villes backup qb left with an injury also? Noles seem to wilt in the 4th q. Noles play well vs the run. Ville to me has the better coach. Have to watch for the injury report, gl

Thanks Hawkeye, wasn?t aware the backup may have been hurt also. I like the Louisville coach myself, huge upgrade from before. I had noticed also how Florida St had a tendency to fade in 2nd half, especially 4th Quarter. I never want to back a team that faded but looks like there may be too many questions marks for the Cards, especially QB issues. Thanks again,

FSU shuffles defensive lineup after loss of DE Joshua Kaindoh

With FSU defensive end Joshua Kaindoh out for the season due to an ankle injury, coaches are asking players to embrace different roles.

?First of all, that?s a big loss. I feel sorry for him, man. I know he wanted to have a big year and all that kind of stuff and he was doing a good job on coming along,? FSU defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett said before Wednesday?s practice. ?But next man up is always the mentality in this sport as long as I?ve been involved in it. It?s the next man up mentality and we just got to move forward in that way.?

The next man up may be Jaiden Lars-Woodbey, a freshman who signed with the Seminoles as a defensive back and has already made numerous adjustments to fit into FSU?s defensive strategy this year.

Leonard Warner III, a junior linebacker who had been playing defensive end, practiced at inside linebacker Tuesday.

Lars-Woodbey moved from practicing with the linebackers to lining up with the defensive ends.

?Your eyes are too good. Why are you staring that hard?? Barnett joked when reporters asked about where players were spotted during practice. ?We?re just trying to get the best 11 on the field where they can maximize their abilities.?

Barnett went on to note improvement in the pass rush, but he said FSU (1-2, 0-1 ACC) will be tested by Louisville (2-1, 0-0 ACC) Saturday. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. at Doak Campbell Stadium and the game will air on ESPN.

?They do a good job of trying to run the ball. They?re averaging 260 yards per game rushing the football and that?s a lot," he said. ?The offensive line coach by trade is the offensive coordinator, so that makes sense. It kind of reminds me of Boston College a little bit how it?s the same kind of thought process behind them with guys trying to run the ball. We got to have the mindset to always stop the run. That?s every defense on every level of football. No. 1 is stop the run. They?re trying to run the football, so it?ll be a great challenge.?

The Seminoles are aware they can?t keep making things more challenging than they already are by committing costly penalties. FSU coach Willie Taggart said there has to be more punishment in practice to help get players back on track. Barnett described the consequences on Wednesday.

?When we have penalties, and we?ve been doing this, penalties in practice immediately you get the punishment, whatever it might be,? he said. ?We have guys run around the far goal post or whatever it is. It?s something immediate, we can?t let them linger. And also with penalties, at the end of the practice, the entire defense has to do something because that one person had that penalty in practice. We definitely focus on it, talked about it since the beginning of camp and we have to make sure we actually apply it in the games.?

While stopping the run game and eliminating penalties are top priorities, the Seminoles also have to be ready for a Louisville team that?s working to get its pass game back on track. Cardinals starting quarterback Jawon Pass sat out last week?s game against Western Kentucky with a foot injury and Malik Cunnignham has reportedly been taking snaps with first team.
Louisville enters the game against FSU ranked No. 13 among 14 ACC teams in pass offense and has completed 54% of its passes, which also ranks 13th in the conference.

The Cardinals know the Seminoles have given up 314 yards per game through the air and reportedly plan to take advantage of that weakness. Louisville coach Scott Satterfield told the Courier-Journal his wide receivers may get the chance to show they can make some plays against FSU.

"I promise you there will come a time when they have to make plays for us. I love the way they are preparing,? Satterfield said of his receivers. ?I know we will have to call their number and it?s a great chance it could be this weekend. When their number gets called, they have to make the play.?

Thanks Sonny, didn't know they had lost their starting DE. Good info!

Why even bother with this game? You are looking at two mediocre to very poor teams in what has to be the weakest Power 5 conference in College Football. I guess that if you have to play this game, take Louisville +7 not necessairily because they have the better team, but because we KNOW that Taggart has the ability to screw up a wet dream, much less a lead in a game.

I'm just looking for an advantage, I don't care where it comes from. GL on your plays this weekend, if you'd been fading me you'd be in good shape so far :toast:

Don't let your record stop you from doing your thing my friend. It obviously does not stop anyone else in here that even bother to post their records.
