Filly Rachel Alexandra Draws Post Position 3 In The Woodward Stakes at Saratoga September 5
Filly Rachel Alexandra is the 1-2 morning line favorite and will start from post position 3 when she faces older males for the first time in Saturday?s $750,000 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga Race Course September 5.

Only a handful of fillies and mares have even competed in the Woodward Stakes. The only other 3-year-old filly to run in the race was Summer Guest, who finished second but was disqualified to third in the 1972 edition.
Rachel Alexandra will carry 118 pounds to her rivals? 126 pounds; as a 3-year-old, she gets a 5-pound weight allowance; as a filly, she gets another 3 pounds.
Among the Woodward Stakes entries racing against filly Rachel Alexandra are: Bullsbay (6-1), who upset Grade 1 Stephen Foster winner Macho Again and the recently-retired Commentator in the Whitney on August 8Online Horse Betting; Macho Again (8-1), the 4-year-old winner of more than $1.6 million; It?s a Bird (10-1); Asiatic Boy (10-1); 2008 Belmont Stakes winner Da?
