I'm certainly not a regular, but I go once a week, twice sometimes, but I will stay 8-10 hours each time I am there and that's usually on a Fri/Sat night.

Since I play craps mostly and it a community game I would say I know most of the regulars and am friendly with them.

I'm no high roller by any stretch, in fact I will play the minimum for hours on end simply because I enjoy being there and getting to play. More and more recently the "regulars" are hitting me up for loans/hand outs. Is this the norm among players who know each other by no other means than they see them at the casino?

I mean, it's happening a lot. To the point that if I am up a couple hundred I start pocketing the bigger chips so as not to attract attention from them.

Well, if you substitute the word degenerates for regulars I think it makes sense. Not saying you can't go 1-2x per week without being one, but I'd say 95% of people going that often have an addiction problem.

Welcome to the world of entitlement. Best to GIVE these parasites $10 and cut your losses. You can't possibly end up ahead when you start lending money to anyone. Not to mention gamblers.

What if you substitute "bar" for "casino"?

A lot of people probably think like that about people who hang out in casinos a lot.....whatever.

I enjoy it and don't lose more than I can afford to. When it quits being fun, I'll quit going.

If I had a casino close I would be there once every two weeks.

I wouldn't loan money to them, IMO...

I'm not sure I would call it a loan. It's more of the "hey can I get a quarter ($25)" or "hey can you spare a couple quarters" gang that I'm talking about.

I hit for about $1000 on a roll a few weeks back at a craps table and that means a lot of noise usually which attracts attention and within two minutes a couple guys asked me to "borrow" $100.

I did tell them no because that $1000 probably didn't get me back to even over the past couple months and that's what I told them, not that they probably cared.

One of the guys who is a high(er) roller asked me for $500 because he just walked in and realized he left his wallet in the car and the car was in valet. I gave it to him and got it back that night, probably within 3 hours. I was sure he was good for it. Otherwise I'm probably out over $500 in quarters here and there that I expect I will never see back.

I hate to be this way, but I'm just gonna say no from now on.

you may want to start wearing a disguise to the casino so you won't be readily identified as a
huge sucker.

Penguin: Sad part is they aren't even going to pay you if they WIN, and i the ones who do pay you $25 back are going to ask you for $50 the next time, and then won't pay you back.

I'm sure you already heard the classic "I didn't FORGET about you." :scared from some of these deadbeats, or "You know I'm good for it." :scared
