Anyone here use Avast free spyware

I am in boot scan and it keeps asking me if I want to

delete
move to chest
repair
ignore.........


Not sure what to do .........I dont want to completely delete a file I need......

Its asking me about windows files also.......

Help

back out and get rid of AVast it gave my serious computer issues!!! I eventually went with Security essentials but that Avast is scary

Maverick - FDC catches more fish.

MS Security Essentials is a good alternative and the one I push is AVG as far as free anti-virus goes.

With Avast - Repair - It may ask for your Windows CD, I think that was for XP machines

Select the repair option. I have Avast and have had no issues at all. Its a good anti virus program. :0074

This keeps running and says it finds some "root" something and then just stops and I have to restart my pc ................

Get rid of Avast. I just went through all sorts of BS with this program when it came time to renew my subscription. If you select that you want the free version again, it will lock up your computer until you buy some sort of Microsoft product. (Active X I think) I had to pay some guy to come out and see what the problem was, and after two hours of looking for a problem, we finally decided to totally delete Avast, and my computer started working fine. He also ran the combofix, and it found nothing.
