Neither pitcher is pitching well. Beimel ERA over 4 and Reith over 7. In fact, Beimel ERA is over 9 in his last 3 games and Reith over 8 in his last 3 games. The total is currently at 9.5, but I have seen it as high as 10 in a few places.

Responses are appreciated.

I think you are right on target. I looked at that game closely last night before deciding to play the bucaneers and I think both pitchers had ERAs of nine or more last three games.

I decided to play Pittsburgh as a dog because the Reds are 6 - 24 in their last 30 home games. They have lost the third game of a series nine out of eleven times at home. When Brian Reith starts the Reds are 0 - 7.
??
Pittsburgh's Joe Breimel certainly doesn't have stellar stats winning one in relief and two starts out of seven appearances with a road ERA of 5.20. Still, if the Reds play true to form this could be the friendliest situation Breimel has started in this season.

Unless one of these pitchers shows something they have been hiding it sure looks like over to me.

i would lean towards cinci tonite, they usally win 1 out of three at home.
Beimel 's been killed by montreal in his last TWO starts.
now, logic dictates (but we know this game is all about murphy's law and a bit of luck..) that cinci should take out pittsburgh tonite.
I regards to the over..i would lean towards that as well...Beimel's giving up about 4 runs per game...and reith is just bad in his last three.
but, remember what someone on this forum said about 3 start pitching cycles...
these pitchers are due for a good start...
just putting in my two cents worth.

i'm off this game.
