What's your age, what types of places do you want to go to?

If you are looking for a great meal I highly recommend Caprice Bistro. My friend's parents own it, his mother is the face up front and his father is the chef. Phenomenal food. Don't worry if you aren't into French, because it's bistro style the servings are a bit bigger and the food is outstanding.
It's on market street down by the water.

You can check out the reviews of Caprice here::

What else are you looking to do??

Sorry, I don't have any info on Wilmington but if I lived where you do, there wouldn't be any question...... Maggie Valley, Cherokee or http://www.randallglen.com/index.html

Even if you stay at Maggie Valley or Asheville, Randall Glen is a great day trip! I've been there gem mining and look forward to going back, hopefully to stay in one of their cabins and spending a few days!

I would recommend the Blockade Runner: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...Runner-Wrightsville_Beach_North_Carolina.html

It's on the expensive side but nice. It has a bar downstairs that usually has some good comedy talent.

If your looking for cheaper, and on the waterway side: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re..._Lodge-Wrightsville_Beach_North_Carolina.html

As far as places to eat, I would recommend most anything downtown on Front St. Also there are a few good places near the two hotels above.

Dockside and Fish House Grill.

Places to go out...it's a college town so most of the younger crowd will be represented. There are many bars and restaurants downtown.

I would recommend that you go see the Battleship USS North Carolina while your there.

If you're looking for a more sleepy environment I would recommend going to Carolina Beach. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...anch_Motel-Carolina_Beach_North_Carolina.html

It's one of the few places you can still drive your 4WD out on the beach.

Hope you enjoy our beaches.

Turf we are not heading there for the beach, just to get away and check out Wilmington if its worth it for a weekend. Went to Mrytle w/the kids a few weeks back and wife has had enough of the beach. I wish Charleston SC was closer as I have heard that is great Town. Thanks for the input Turf.

Well, my 2 cents would be Myrtle Beach, SC...but I guess Charleston is OK too.

Either way...enjoy the time to yourselves.

If you have any questions let me know, it's been a long time since I lived there but I'm sure times haven't changed too much.
