I was just wondering how you made it through the cold. I have the utmost respect for both crowds seeing and hearing how loud they both were throughout the game, with unbelievable, and even harmful conditions.

That said, seeing that both teams are home again this week, did you see any instances where you thought the cold effected the visiting team more than it effected the home team? Other than what was displayed on the field? I think it has a very big impact this week when you consider Carolina a warm weather team, and Indy being a dome team.

Just wondering, as it takes some real cubes to sit for 3+ hours through the frigid temps of this weekend, and from what the reports looks like, again this week.

I was at the Philly game rooting on my beloved Birds. It really wasn't that bad out. I had about 7 layers on top and 2 on the bottom with a hat and gloves. Then again, the 5 hours of tailgating prior to the game might have dulled my senses a little.

I sometimes think that the warm weather team going into the cold angle is a little overrated when it comes to the playoffs. Regular season it may be an angle worth looking at but with so much on the line, I think they step up. Look at TB - they couldn't win a cold game for years and then went into Philly last year and rocked the Eagles. I wouldn't put too much importance on the warm weather/dome teams playing outside.

Have to agree with cameroncrazie.

If I look back on all the Super Bowls I have watched, the teams that made it this far were not going to be affected by cold weather. If there are fumbles and such it also happens in Domes. Both teams play under the same weather conditions.

There is far too much at stake. They have all played in cold.

The Super Bowl teams that end up going are a bunch of damn professional football players. The kind that will go to war in the trenchs. I think about Montana and the Forty Niners. Them guys didnt give a rats ass how cold it was. They would come into your home stadium and open a six pack of whip ass.

They have huge heaters on the sidelines so as soon as they get to the sidelines they just warm their big asses up.

Good post and thinking cameron.

I didn't go to either game, but I think the one word answer, aside from obvious being dedicated fans as most northeast fans are, is BOOZE. With the Pats game being at 8, the crowd was probably havin a pop or ten or twenty all day to stay warm, and even the Eagle game being late sunday, leaves all morning and afternoon to suck back a few :) great wkend, next weekend cant live up to it but hopefully we get some good games and a good super bowl
