I don't know what kind of betting race it will be, but I am looking forward to seeing Sulamani, who may be the best grass horse in the world. I thought he was the most visually impressive horse in last years Arc when he ran second (the 3rd place finisher came back to win the Breeders Cup Turf). Before last year's Breeders Cup, all the major preps were downloadable online and when watching High Chapparal's Arc race you couldn't help but be impressed by Sulamani's acceleration. The weather here in Chicago has been much cooler than normal the past 2 days, which is good for the Euro horses, who often don't acclimate well to heat and humidity. The US grass horses may be sub par this year; Storming Home is considered by most to be the best US turfer and Denon was considered 2nd. But Denon tired in the stretch to run 4th behind 3 big longshots last Saturday at Saratoga, making one question how good he really is. More later in the week.
