21st: 4-2 +2.0
ytd: 14-8 +4.0 (ML 7-8, RL 1-0, tot 6-0)
comments: needed Dodgers or (oops) Marlins for a really triumphant day yester; notice a pattern in those stats (if it so be), what with me coin-tossing those sides but smoking the totals; I'm always looking for good under plays, with starters, BPs, situations, umps and the like; dang Fish and my Leiter esteem

priced beyond my range:
--Cubs -150 (at -130 maybe, but Cubs need slight readjust without Nomar, and Cubsticks were grim vs lefties last couple seasons)
--Marlins -180 (was dreaming about -140...Reds have shown some life, though I dislike Harang (.177 opponents batting average is sure to rise like Bush's poll rankings during a yellow alert)
--Cards -185 (fantasized about -130-140; Marquis is not that good and Duckworth not that bad; no comparison in bats so far...Astros desperately need Berkman)
--brewers +125 (woulda been tempted (more) at +140; Santos-Rueter matchup gives a slight illusion of favouring Brew-Pew)

--tex@NYY over 10.5 -110 (over 9.5, for this price, and I was on it; Brown has a semi-normal game and total could be low; Young had a few good outtings last year--his .333 opponents BA should drop at least a little, like my hope for peace, love, and legalization upon watching the evening news)
--chisox -140 (at -120, maybe, but Garcia makes me clutch my money tight since his exit from the confines of SAFECO; Royals will win at least 1 or 2 a week, and my faith in Chisox bats not as high aas their numbers might inspire)
--indians -110 (I think this should pay at least even coin, though Sabathia was 2-0 last year at SAFECO, with a 1.80 era (15 IP); M's bats look sharp this year, and Indians the ones doing the travelling to a team looking to start a fresh W streak)

Got some goodies coming (Hendrix willing)
Will be back in 17 Jiffies.

affordable:
--Mets 2.9/2 (Esteban doesn't turn my crank--maybe a bad taste left from his Jays days--and Glavine has showed a little something last 2 starts; Metsticks should continue wierding ways of my Marlins oops, and ex-expos bats have overachieved; good value--I expected -170ish)
--phillies 1/1.1 (I'm looking for the Phils to kick off this series on a good note, with, I believe, Myers being the real deal and Hampton a little over his head, right now, with a 0.82 era (Myers 0.44 era also a bit unretainable)
--phil@Atl under 8 1.1/1 (lookin' to at least break even, here, as Hampton may chill opposing bats for a while longer)
--Rockies 0.8/1 (Jennings-Weaver close to a toss-up, in my opinion, and Dodgers bats have overachieved so far (save for you-kn :cursin: ow-when); Rockies kicked butt at home last year)
--D'Backs 1.5/1.5 (Halsey not fantastic, but neither is Redding; I think D'Backs start this series off right as their transformed sticks can easily compete with Padsticks)

Back with some AL if the aliens pick on someone else.

--twins 0.5/0.55 (gotta have a piece of this as I'll take Silva over Maroth, and Twinsticks to boot)
--Jays 1.05/1 (think Jays will be glad to see Yankees gone, and face travelling O's team discouraged by showing vs Bosox; Towers has looked good--his 5.52 era is misleading due to a poor showing in last @Rangers; Towers makes 1st home start of '05)
--D'Rays 0.75/1.05 (I believe in Kazmir, and think that major leaguers can hit forball if they're patient, which Lou should be preaching)
--a's@Angels over 1.05/1 (my other totals have been unders, so carpe diem; both starters are grim (era's of 6.75 and 8.22 attest to that); my only concern is tepid A's bats, but unimpressive Lackey should encourage them to score some)

can't resist one more

can't resist one more

maybe due to lack of sleep, I am almost as confident about today's board as I am about tomorrow's...one more...

Marlins -1.5 +110 0.5/0.55 (Burnett with back to back complete games, but he has been very economical with his pitches, and Marlins pen is no slouch anyway; Harang 8 k's in last, but vs very slumping Astros bats; Harang puts in rather short outtings, as well, and Reds pen leaves much to be desired)

Have fun.
