Are NFL Referees BLIND?

This play might seem like something insignificant, and it was in the grand scheme of things. But it goes to show you that NFL officials typically are so blind/dumb that THEY CAN'T EVEN SEE A PLAY RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES !!!

Did anyone catch it, during last night's game?

Here's the scenario -- the Chicago receiver catches the ball at about the 40 yard line and runs down the sideline. He clearly steps out of bounds at the 35, but runs ahead for another 6 yards and the ball is marked out at the 29 yard line.

Rams Coach Martz immediately protests the spot of the ball. They stop the game nearly a FULL three minutes while the head referee goes over to the sidelines and looks at the replay video.

Okay, now here's where it gets so insanely ridiculous that I bounced out of my seat and stood there with my jaw on the floor.

The network shows the replay. The Chicago Bear receiver is lumbering down the sidelines. His right foot steps COMPLETELY onto the side line marker. It isn't even close. I mean, that foot is out by 5 inches. To make things more clear, the BEARS receiver is wearing BIG BLACK SHOES and steps on the HUGE WHITE SIDELINE STRIPE. How freakin' difficult is it to see where he stepped out of bounds? The ENTIRE FOOT is on the white sideline. THE ENTIRE FOOT!!!!

What made me speechless was observing not just one but TWO!!!!!! NFL officials both RIGHT THERE on the sidelines watching the feet, and both missing the spot. They STILL MARKED THE FREAKIN' BALL AT THE 29 YARD LINE!!!!!!!

How could TWO blind clowns miss this marking?

So, they mark it at the 29, the replay shows that his ENTIRE foot step out on the 35 and the ball is moved back.

My question is -- WHO IN THE F--- CAN WE TRUST THESE LAMEBRAINED IDIOTS when two officials can't see a BLACK FOOT step on a white sidelines marker?

We had to waste nearly three minutes and completely slow up the game, which then allowed the Rams to reset their defense. Oh, this was in the 4th quarter of course -- so maybe this delay DID affect the game. I don't know. Nevertheless, these c---suckers are CLUELESS!

Bottle time!

Among Libtards!!
:slomo this is how the NFL refs get some air time.....I think they get a kick out of looking important on TV for 5 minutes doing something that should be done in 5 seconds. NFL is becoming a phucking joke....almost worse than the NBA and the chit the refs pull in that league. Phuck these old a$$ motherphuckers who seem to control the outcome of every game...gambling today is more or less hoping you sided with the team who is going to be the beneficiary of some Bullchit call or calls...what a shame!!!

Not only this game, we've seen the freaking zebras made so many bad calls lately. EVEN AFTER REVIEWING THE PLAY.
Did anyone watch radiers/pats game on sunday night?
How about those bad calls?
The last thing I want to see is the result of the whole game was
decided by the bad/wrong call from these idiots.........
I can't stand that anymore.

While we're at it, lets toss the crooked clock operators a few:thefinger :thefinger :thefinger also.

I play alot of totals and watching those extra few seconds tic off the clock on deadballs gets me. Also do the refs know the rules for starting the clock after a stoppage????? The one that gets me the most is: Pass is incomplete, clock stops, then a penalty (motion, offsides ect.) does the clock start on the next snap or when the ref sets the ball and restarts the play clock???? I see it done both ways and it really pisses me off!!!!!!!!!

You're both right Nolan and Sportsaholic,
I watch alot of football(probably way to much),but it is about the flow of a game.Bad call's,flags on any play, disrupt a game big-time.Then to top things off,the way the side judge rules the play close the sideline is ludicrus. When a receiver goes out of bounds, and his knee does not touch,YOU STOP THE CLOCK!!, or at least your supposed to.I watched last night and the side judge looked like a freak'in windmill over there.Hell I thought he was going into orbit the way he was slinging his arm around. Then to top things off, those false start peanalties run another 45 seconds every time they call one.I don't know if you saw this, but the play Nolan is talking about, after they finally spotted the ball in the right spot, there was a penalty. They started the clock and ran 35 seconds off the clock before the next play was run.You may say big deal. I say when it came to nut-cutting, at the end of the game and the total and pointspread is within 1 play either way, well that is what the NFL loves.See everyonr is glued to the seat til the bitter end.The game doesn't matter. All the Ram bettors,Bear backers, over players and the ones that had the under, all had to wait til the very last play.NOW THAT"S THE PARITY THEY ARE LOOKING FOR!!!!!.

Bingo jbird....I've often felt that in many of the games, the lines are set and the games carefully "orchestrated" around the lines.

Hey TT, I'm happy your first post would be in response to my two cents. I know some may think,"You must be insane to think games are fixed, and even more crazy to bet on them if it is so". My point is what difference does ti make? Either your trying to handicap a game, or trying to handicap a fix. Either way it is gambling. That is what we do here right? I've alway's thought "it doesn't matter what the line is,these guys are capable of playing to any number". It's strange to me that the "BIG GAMES"(the one's nationally televised) are the ones that are always so close to the number.GO FIGURE !!!. If there is a group of men in a room somewhere capable of fortune telling what some 44 guys (most of which are crack heads)are going to be doing on a football field. Why don't they tell George Bush where Sadam, and Bin Laden are hanging out? Surely the reward money is more than you would get paid hadicapping football. Just a thought?
