Army +3 over Navy *****
Wrong team favored...the pando commando's have lost 14 of last 15 but last yr won 21-17...the streak is over...and a new one is about to begin...Army has been on fire until 2 weeks ago when they ran into powerhouse Mean Green from North Texas...Army lost 51-49...I could go on and on about so much..need to do a cliff note version on todays game...the biggest factor is Bradshaw the qb....he has gained over 1,400 yds and doesn't fumble..in fact the most incredible stat is Army has rushed the ball 649 times and only fumbled 4 times....that is amazing when you consider the past years..in fact a few years ago Army fumbled the ball on the Navy 2 yd line with a minute to go and lost..Army has about 4 or 5 fullbacks..but Davidson is the stud..he did score 2 td's lasy yr in this game..but this former linebacker runs like he is a linebacker...love it when its 3rd and 2 and everyone knows Davidson is going to get the ball...and he does and gains 4 yds and carries 2 players on him...but the MVP is Walker...he hurt his ankle in the North Texas game..is back today..he has outside speed..Army hasn't had a player with that speed...if he turns the corner and no one touches him he could be gone..of course navy knows this but Navy knows everything on defense,,and army knows what navy does..
The big problem is Bradshaw at qb can't throw...hopefully this past 2 weeks Monkens has put in something in their attack...Navy can put 11 men in the box and leave a army wr open and Bradshaw still couldn;t hit him...he is more accurate when someone just runs down the field straight and stops and turns around..but hitting a crossing pattern is impossible...Navy has Abey who has 8 tds and 800 yrd..they do have Carmona at WR who has caught 6 td's..Navy has lost 5 of last 6 games...but they do play a tougher schedule but today past records mean nothing...even Navy winning 16 of the last 18..but Army is 5-1 ats in last 6...
anything can happen in this game...they both run wishbone and are No 1 and 2 in rushing..Army defense is the biggest question mark today..because Army's offense will be able to move the ball..again Army can't turn it over...
Plus Army is wearing the World War 11 Pando's Commando's uniforms a Mountain Division that fought in Italy..
Think Army wins outright and don't need the points... Go Army beat Navy...

Thanks Box!! What a game!! Navy really shot themselves in the foot on the last drive, esp the 2 false starts.

I do feel bad for that kicker. He hit it well and would have prob made it from inside 40 where they should have been. I was almost rooting for him since I had the 3 points.

Go Army Beat Navy

nice win Buddy
TD..Navy did kill themselves with those 2 penalties...but can't feel sorry for the kicker..Army has suffered for many, many, many and many years losing to Navy...tonite and tomorrow will be great days on the campus...they win the CIC trophy....and their basketball team is pretty good...I wore my Army hoodie this morning to the Donut Hole in Austin..I take my granddaughter and her friend every sat morning.. this morning this guy comes up to me and says " do you think we will beat navy today:...I forgot I had my hoodie on .I say yes..then he tells me he graduated West Point in 1988 and his son last year....what a nice guy..retired after 27 years...well Jim I will probably never see you again but this was a nice sweet win...Army dodged a bullet on that passing play when both Navy guys were wide open..
But Army hung in there..nice win...

Yeah and just a classic old school field position game. That pass play, yeah, both guys were wide open and would have scored. Also, what an effort by the guy that barely tripped up Navy's QB around the 15 on that long run. Saved 4 points and turned out to prob be the difference.

Both quarterbacks played great. What a drive by Bradshaw...just like last year...and the one pitch and the guy, Trainor I think, made one hell of a run to get inside the 1. I hate the semi-new rule where you can push the QB...but if its there, might as well run it. I've seen K-State get inside the 5 and every time they just run T-Formation and one qb sneak after another with the 3 guys behind pushing. Snyder's no dummy lol.

As for the Navy kicker...just thinking about how he made 2 field goals in those conditions and should have been set up for a 40-yarder to win it. Instead its closer to 50 and just barely missed...I mean, that's their Super Bowl and he'd be the hero. What can I say, I'm a very empathetic person. But glad Army got the win and now building a streak of their own.

I also love that both teams were actually good this year. Both going bowling. Look forward to Army's bowl game!

Best game I?ve watched all year. Very few mistakes made by coaches or players...best of all I watched the first game this year where I didn?t have to watch the cocky antics, trash talking, or whining to officials by players...those are the young men I would want my son to emulate...very well played game, wish I had that feeling at the end of the day on Sunday...nice call Box, gl in the Bowl Games

TD....you are right about that saving tackle..that qb was going in for a TD....amazing no one used the pitch except for that one play by Trianor and hi is not one of their best backs.. I kept thinking for Bradshaw to pitch to Walker outside..he has more speed then the Navy qb..but Monken was worried about a bad pitch fumble...it was a classic game maybe more for me because it paid for almost my whole trip to new Orleans on Thursday..so few penalties...and that pushing from behind has to go...subcloser..it is great to see no smack talking or any other crazy antics on the field..but behind the scenes or in locker room they are just as bad as anyone...the cadets are not what you see on TV...I felt bad for Bradshaw because the day before the game they bought up why he was suspended for a year...sexual attack on another cadet..he was exonerated after an investigation...and he won the game on those last drives...hope Army gets another win in a bowl game..not sure who they are playing
North Texas is +7 vs Troy on Saturday..hmmmm but NT lost their top RB...

Yeah the legal pushing has got to go...but it provides even more offense so people love it. Its not football, its rugby...I know they never called "aiding the runner" before but now its commonplace and it sucks. Ref's won't blow the whistle and guys just push and shove for extra yards and it sucks.

I hate that they are the same as all other players behind the scenes but figured as much. You've got good guys and bad guys all across the land...at least they show respect on the field and don't tarnish the games.

This was a great game to watch. Congrats to the Army side Mister Box!

I was up at the game, and boy was it cold tailgating. The Army pride and enthusiasm and joy was on full display all across Philly late into the night!

I don't want to see games like this all the time but I do greatly miss the days when it was all about field position and it was dangerous/risky to throw the ball.

Running was conservative but there was also an art to it. Passing was risk/reward and you used the run to set up the pass...play action was such a great tool.

I know this game was a combination of the teams and the weather and I only go back to the 1980's but that's the football I miss and I've seen plenty of highlights to know how good football was in the 70's as well.

Looking forward to both Army and Navy in their respective bowl games!

Agree TD...and so few penalties..it was intense with the field conditions..Army had one option lateral the entire game....Not sure navy had one...but Navy put their speedster in at qb...a chess match...
