Army-UTSA recap
I was a guest of Army vs UTSA in San Antonio at the Alamodome on Saturday. Ist of all I was bragging about getting a free ticket. Just pick my ticket at the will call window. But Parking was $25 and a 16 ounce soda was $5 and pop corn $4.50. I ended up buying 2 soda's ,3 beers 3 popcorns for the group of guys from West Point I was sitting with. Since I got a free ticket ...So when I say I got a free ticket to the Army game someone please shoot me in the ass. The cost was about $75 maybe a little more. But the good news was my phone battery was low and left it in the car charging .. After going into the stadium I realized I left it in the car.. not wanting to walk all the way back to the parking lot I said " I don't really need it" The only reason I'm telling this story is because it saved me more money then I spent on parking, soda's beers and popcorn. Thank the lord I had no access to my phone.
I meet up with my buddy and 2 of his friends I know them thru basketball officiating.. they had done a few of my high school games. So I sit down with them 5 seats apart and ask them " what do you think about todays game.. Not telling these guys I have UTSA now at +9... Well they tell me Army is in trouble today. Anderson who was the staring qb might start but this week in practice he re-injured himself He isn't even here in San Antonio . Jamel the other backup is out too So they have 2 qb's with very little experience who will play. and McCoy there top rb will play but only on a few plays. And then get the real inside news ... Monken the coach will only use 7 or 8 plays because these rookie qb's had no time to understand let alone the playbook. I'm thinking " holy molly" UTSA almost beat BYU with Wilson at qb. I need to make another bet via phone on UTSA at +9 But the phone is in the car..damn damn damn ..
Well Army wins and covers pretty easily . Monken in his press conference calls it an " improbable win" says with his limited playbook on his 2 new qb's . Then he tells everyone in his pre-game speech was all about helping protecting and supporting his rookies qb's It worked because both guys Ballard and Tyler scored rushing td's and moved the ball. Despite having only 7 total plays to run.. UTSA couldn't any of those 7 plays anyway.
And another thing I keep saying I thought UTSA's Sincere McCormick when I saw him a few weeks ago vs Tex St was one of the best rb's in the state of Texas. He could start for U Texas.. small powerful ,quick wind shield wiper moves.etc Well I need to read more because the Roadrunner trivia quiz on the big screen was ' Sincere McCormick leads the nation in rushing How many yards A 350 B 400 C 450 D 500 Think it was c So here I thought I had a hidden gem that i got to see close up and report to all of you something most of you didn't know Well my bad He as of saturday was leading .. On the 1st play of the game he ran one up 28 yds ..but he only carried 18 times for 133 yds but avg 7 yds per carry.. Cannot believe he didn't get the ball more .. Anyway Army rushed for 305 yds down 8 yds from there average .. UTSA's left def end, left line backer and left corner back and safety were pancaked on every running play at them. I mean pancaked. On the ground flat. And number 5 from UTSA who was knocked out on 10 running plays and was " heard saying "man your battle stations" after about 5 concussions finally made a play and tackled someone behind the line of scrimmage .. And after that was strutting, flexing his muscle to the crowd. Unreal I hope the UTSA coach talks to that kid because he was beaten again 4 or 5 more times after that play.. so I lost my bet, lost so money on beer and soda's ,parking ,but thank the lord for forgetting my phone in the car I would of doubled my bet gotta run back later
