Japan, Taiwan and South Korea honor MLB suspensions.
Now they can use the money towards more pitching.
All of the top starters are still out there, Tanaka, Santana and Garza are still out there they were considered the top three starters in free agency and top ten free agents overall.
I think the NYY have been studying Santana's workouts, he's not been the same and had prop ailments since his no-no for the Mets a few years back, it seems like 10 years ago now, Tanaka is phenomenal, I saw him when he was 18, he's built a lil like Daisuke Matsuzaka which is scary, but he's got a very good arm and could win 15-18 games in year 1!! Garza now, that's a mystery, why hasn't anyone signed him already? AGENT!!! He's also got a mystery ailment, ala, Roy Halladay, he has yet to succumb to taking physicals for ML teams which is a big "stay away from". When Garza is on, there is no one better than him from the right side on the bump. I think you'll see the Phillies or Seattle sign Garza, they are pretty much gambling right now with what they have on the hill, so why not?
2014 appears to be a wide open race for ML teams. Lots of roster changes, but one thing is constant, the Cards, Dodgers, Braves and Tigers will be loaded, we can't forget the Reds & Pirates, both of whom I feel have a legit shot at making it to the WS in 2014, in fact, I'll put a lil on the moneyline prop bet they each do!! Good odds on em so far!!
Can't wait for opening day, Shawn!! :toast:
