this may startle a many of the people who religiously coattail my picks, but i really like PITTSBURGH this weaken plus the points. Weather forecast is lite snow,wed-next Tuesday. 24 degrees game time! This game is a perfect ending to a very predictable season. A team looks like they are unbeatable one week and the next week they lose to Arizona. scores 40 one week against a good defense and 10 against the bad. We've seen it all year have'nt we? To me and i'm a firm believer that no team is as good as they look one week, that N.E., and / or as bad as they look , and that being PITT. So here comes a patriot team that everyone bet the over(so called pro capers , that is) this past Saturday because they gave up 30 points a game average their last 4 games. Wow they only give up 3 to the highest scoring team in the nfl. surprise all of you, it should'nt have. N.e. only once went over the 52 total once in the last 9 times they played. All of our guys bet N.E. with the under. Waited until Indy was favored and teased the number to 58-59, an easy win. The steelers really , really, really outplayed the jets badly. Their defense only gave up 3 points, we were all lucky to have played the jets with the over. BUT this weeks matchup seems to surprise everyone that How could N.E. be favored at Pitt. EASY sports books need money to be equal betting so they make their 10%. the general public already loves the superbowl champs, and after they hold indy to 3 points and physically whooped them up. They have to start n.e. at 3 to 3- because their not stupid, they know there will be allot of Pittsburgh money coming in late waiting to see if it hits 4. Because this line will not hit four and will go down to 2-,3 at game time Pittsburgh's money should be bet now, but won't be. Putting n.e. at 3 says to me that n.e. on a neutral field is 6 points better, i disagree. And means they think n.e. is a nine point better team at N.E.. Really guys would you fill comfortable knowing the whoop ass Pittsburgh gave n.e. the first time to give them 9 points even if it is at home, I DON"T THINK SO. So to me there is allot of value with the home team steelers i this game. Now what should happen. The line on the over and under indicates this should be a lower scoring game, i agree, but not going to touch that part this weekend. Dillon did not play the first game, meaning n.e. will not have to pass 47 times . You won't have to worry about it anyway because both of these teams will have long, time eating drives with a few field goals, we know that. I like Pitts special teams better, except for field goals. Receivers are better, but i'm not going to tease you why i love the steelers, plan and simple, A much more physical and bigger offensive line. The reason Pitt kicked the ass out of n.e. the first time is because they whooped their ass up front, had nothing to do with dillon or the injuries they have in the secondary. THEY KICKED THEIR ASS UP FRONT and that will not change this time out. What will change is N.e. knows their going to smash them in the mouth and will be better for play action with the pitt recievers. Don't look for the pitt q.b. to win the game, look for the offensive line to win the game. This game reminds me so much of the philly raider superbowl years ago, the raiders line won the game, they blocked the sun out and so will Pitts line, the only difference being in pittburgh their won't be any sun shinning. Take the steelers and the points, they will upset New England this weekend. PITTSBURGH, for $3000.oo ARROW

So. Cal
shouldn't pitt "blocked the sun out of NE" two years ago when Pit had the AFC MVP in Kordell and the Bus running and the same type of game plans.....oh yeah and a much worse NE team that DIDN'T have the confidence they do now??????

I dont put any value into what a -3 road fav corresponding line would be on a neutral field or at home...who freaking cares. The fact is I loved NE in this rematch game all year...loved them to win at +2 Sat night line....a five point swing to -3 doesn't change my opinion.

Yes Pit has a great line
Yes Pit has a bigger line
Yes Pit will run the ball

I will put my money on Bill Belicheck to devise something to stop that.......why doubt the guy?????????

good post.

Big Ben/Cowher to out play/out coach Brady/MrB.
Forget about line of scrimmage. One team knows how to
win championship games the other has an imploding rookie qb and
coach who cannot make in game adjustments which is what this game will be about.

Should be a beauty. By the way getting a defending SB champ
for less than a fg two weeks in arow...late Xmas gift.............gl

only six days to prepare not two weeks like they had with a familiar team like indy. Gin your foolish to compare pitts defense this year versus the one 3 years ago that the raiders lit up for 40, give me a break. I love belicek and brady remember struggled mightily against this defense the first time. TEAM DEFENSIVE SPEED was the difference on that side, guess what guys, IT's still there and know healthy, they were'nt the first time, they are now.

So. Cal
watch for NE to max protect and take shots downfield vs those bad PIT db's....they are the weak link.....it's why i said in another thread that pit got lucky to play the jets in their first playoff game...the most impotent team to take advantage of the steelers weakness on defense.

NE only had 1 week to prepare for Indy. Indy had to beat Den 1stfor NE to know for sure. Coach Bell already did 1 game plan against them not long ago. Pitts off. hasn't changed so Bell. will make a few minor changes and hope not to turn ball over as much

cash, how do you get that ben is an imploding rookie qb, yes a rookie but the simple fact is he has not lost a game yet, yes he may have played poorly the last few weeks, but at the end of the game he gets a W in the column...

shark:

I was refering to his play in a pressure playoff game. It's not a knock on big ben but rather an
observation of a natural event.

Rookie qb playing his first BIG GAME. Expect more
of the same maybe worse, hence imploding. He
will have to make SOME plays and that's PITT's
problem against PATS....................gl
