there............split time between Curacao and Aruba....both great places.....i used to enjoy Bali Scaramouche and Rijstafel eateries,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Indonesian cuisine....been over 10 years for me now and don't know if they are still there.

WHere are you staying there, Jordan? I only spent one day there on a cruise, but that's the best day I can remember on any vacation, in my life. A wonderful place, have friends who have vacationed there twice. Let me know where you are going to be, and I'll see what I can find out.
The main tourist area there is very "Americanized" which could be a positive or negative for you. I loved it, after being in so many destitute areas along the way. Very progressive, felt very safe there, and the ocean/beach area is amazingly beautiful. Some really fun bars there, are you going with a significant other?

I've been there eight times in the last nine years. The Hyatt has a good blackjack game but you've got to play downtown as well in order to enjoy the locals. If you are a card counter, don't worry about any heat. The pit bosses are too nice to boot anyone out. Several times I have paid for my trip with blackjack winnings.
Our favorite restaurant is Madame Jeannette. Try the veal chop with a big mug of belashi beer. L.G. Steakhouse is good along with El Gaucho if you are a carnivore. Another newer restaurant is Yemanja. Everything is cooked on a wood-fired grill and the Dutch girls who serve the food are very pretty. If you are looking for Italian try Sole Mare.
