ATHLETICS/INDIANS Under 8.5 +105 ? It is nice to get + odds on an Under with Mark Mulder on the hill. In Mulder?s last 16 starts, he is an amazing 12-3 with a 2.85 ERA and an outstanding WHIP of 1.15. He recovered nicely from a shaky start vs. the Yankees 2 starts back to allow just 1 earned run and 5 hits in 8 innings in his last start vs. the White Sox. Apparently, Mulder is a tad tougher to pick up when pitching at night, as he is allowing an OBA of .234 under the lights. The Under is 8-4 in all of his road starts. He is facing an Indians team that is averaging 4.10 runs per game in the last 10 games, down from their season?s average of 4.32 runs per contest. The Indians have some high hopes for Jason Phillips, and he has shown some nice glimpses already of what he is capable of. You could forgive him his rough start in his Major League debut, when he allowed 5 earned runs in 6 innings. However, he has not allowed more than 3 runs in his 3 subsequent starts, with the Tribe winning 2 of those 3 starts. Coincidentally, the best start of his young career was his only home start to date, when he held the White Sox to 1 run and 7 hits in 7.2 innings. The Oakland batters may have some difficulty facing Phillips for the first time. Finally, the Under is now a very profitable 36-19 in all Oakland road games this season, as well as a good 33-25 in all Cleveland home games.
