Just want to say that AT&T DSL sucks!

Is there a lawyer in the house? I just got off the phone with an AT&T "manager" over a billing issue.

I signed up for 3.0 Mbps at $14.95/month, which I was charged last month. This month, the bill is $24.95. The bitch told me that the system caught that I have no bundle with the DSL service. The $14.95 rate is only if I have phone or TV service as well. I told her that some sales person sold it to me at $14.95/month without a bundle. She kept apologizing stating that there is nothing she can do because the "system" has caught the error. I said that is not my error though. Had I known about the required bundle plan, I wouldn't have purchased the service. Early termination fee is $150. Damn AT&T won't even let be back out of the one year contract. I do have the first month's bill for $14.95 to prove.

Help? Anyone?

I would escalate to the next level within AT&T. If you don't get your way you should threaten and/or go ahead and make a complaint to the BBB and the public utility commission in your state capitol. The bundled deal was not explained properly by their customer service rep; maybe they even recorded that phone call as they often boast they will do for customer service reasons. Well this is the perfect case to review the tapes!

wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. yeah

I had AT&T DSL and it was screaming fast at first. Hesitantly switched to Charter fiber fed coax type network. I gotta say Charter is much faster.
