"Last year, it was (laughably) Your Playoff-Bound Atlanta Hawks.

Now, let's all get behind Your Freed-up Salary Cap Atlanta Hawks!

What a relief when the Hawks traded Glenn Robinson to Philadelphia for essentially nothing (and I still think the 76ers got royally rooked). It was one of the great dumps in sports. Mr. Robinson should not go away hurt by the fact he was replaced by an empty jersey. The important thing is that he just go away.

The skeleton crew keeping the lights on inside the Hawks offices decided to make the deal in order to get the team out of salary cap double-secret probation. This positions them in an idyllic place without luxury taxes and with the potential to snare some future free agent who just hasn't been paying attention."
........................................................................

Hawks do get a number one draft pick from Philly in a few years. It was worth it to get rid of the big dog Robinson. What a joke player he was.

Addition by subtraction of Robinson is a good thing for Atlanta, but the Sixers improved their team getting him for Van Horn. Robinson is a cancer and doesn't play defense, but he can put the ball in the basket and that is the type of player Philly needs more than anything to help Iverson. Van Horn plays even less defense, is softer than a marshmallow, and is going to get trashed by the NY fans and media once they start watching his weak game night in and night out.
