Two division rivals that always play close games year in and out.

Falcons have played shitty teams in pre season and Ryan played well but his big problem is the red zone offense and we hardly saw any of that .

I see alot of field goals by the Falcons.

Stephen Jackson is a joke. He will probably pull a hammy on the way to warm ups.

Jaquizz is a bowling ball but hardly capable of carrying the running game. He goes down way to easy. Doubt they will play Freeman much as Smith never likes to show his bad acquizitions up and will stick with them all night.

The major problem is Rookie Matthews who will learn some hard lessons. Ryan should watch his back for this schooling.

The Falcons have NO PASS RUSH . NONE !

And Drew Brees is going to sit back there and pick them apart over and over.

What I have seen in preseason is enough to make a Falcons fan cry. And now this is the real season.

New Orleans defense is not the best but got to hand it to Ryan in getting new players and getting them to fill a role.

Go Falcons .

FLOWERY BRANCH ? Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter has some very specific goals for his unit when they drive inside the opposition?s 20-yard line.
?Our goal is always to be 55 percent or higher (with) touchdowns in the red zone,? Koetter said. ?That?s our goal every week. We did not reach that in the preseason. You always wonder in the preseason if that?s because you?re rotating so many guys or you didn?t have the right play called or you didn?t execute or what the situation was?
Koetter has addressed the red zone issue with the offensive players.:scared
?If you get in the red zone times, to get over 55 percent, you have to score 3 out of 4 times,? Koetter said. ?It?s not an easy task, but the best teams in the NFL will get there. We are definitely shooting to be one of those teams.?
In the opener last season against the New Orleans Saints, the Falcons? inability to score in the red zone hurt them.
The Saints won the hotly contested game 23-17 at the Superdome after the Falcons stalled twice inside the 10-yard line.
The Falcons? third drive of the game stalled on the 5-yard line after pass over the middle to Jones was incomplete. Matt Bryant added a 23-yard field goal.
On the Falcons? final drive, they moved from their 20 to the Saints? 3. But after running back Steven Jackson dropped an apparent touchdown pass, Ryan was intercepted on fourth down.

3 out of 4 is not 55%

This is a major problem with the Falcons and I do not see this changing in this game.

Mike Smith has alot to do with it with his play calling or the offensive coach whoever.

The thing New Orleans has to do is not go down the tubes in away games. They tend to play very well at home and then stink it up on the road.

Division winning teams do not do that. They must win on the road. Setting this up as the first of many road wins will serve them well.

Go Falcons .

I might be wrong but I think the Falcons pull it out. Saints are not as consistent on the road as they are at home. I will agree with this, the Falcons have no pass rush. The whole line is a joke and I'm not sure Moore is worth the hype, gets burnt way too much. But all things said.. GO FALCONS

we will see shortly

if it were me I would have had the first team play the whole game if necessary against the Jacksonville team to prove they could win and stomp them in the red zone.

too much molly coddling .

I heard something excellant about Mike Smith on sports radio today.

remember in the Super Bowl game when New Orleans came out and did the onside kick after halftime I think it was. Peyton has balls and is willing to take risks.

Mike Smith sits on a lead , goes into zone coverage and keeps his fat fingers crossed.

No balls in a head coach can be doomsday.

I guess it might be a high scoring game but they just will not be able to stop Brees and company with that pitifull defense shown in pre-season

The days of shootouts between these two teams are over. NO actually has an elite defense now(ranked 4th in total defense last year). This was BEFORE they added an all-pro top 3 safety in Jairus Byrd to a secondary that was already ranked 2nd only behind Seattle against the pass last year. Now you have Jairus playing next to Kenny Vaccaro and Rafel Bush/

Plus they have a front 7 with TWO guys who both had 14 sacks last year(Saints had the 4th most sacks in the league last year).

Uh oh........

I smell money and it smells green .....

Go Falcons

Personally, was leaning Falcons... however, you have a better read on this group than me.

These games between the two are typically very close and +3 at home is equal to at least +8 on the road which I would be jumping on Atlanta. Don't see the same value, but not sure I'll play such an early season rivalry either. Does Saints FG kicker situation scare you?

T Does Saints FG kicker situation scare you?

two days after cutting him loose, the Saints have called and said they don't want to break up with kicker Shayne Graham.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports New Orleans has brought back the veteran kicker, signing him on Tuesday afternoon, per a source informed of the move.

The team released Graham on Saturday as teams across the league trimmed their rosters to 53 players. It was expected the Saints would sign a free agent kicker in the following days, but few thought it would be the guy they just sent into free agency.

Nonetheless, Graham and the Saints are together again. Graham spent the 2013 regular season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Saints, making 2 of 2 field goal attempts and 7 of 7 PATs

thats the problem with the Falcons . They kick alot of field goals

Drew Brees kicks touchdowns.

Biggest concern

It's disingenuous to predict a major turnaround on defense. The loss of linebacker Sean Weatherspoon only thinned a front seven lacking a top-flight pass rusher in a division with Drew Brees and Cam Newton slinging passes.

After ranking 29th in sacks last season, the Falcons still lack difference-makers off the edge. Kroy Biermann is coming off an Achilles injury while Jonathan Babineaux and Osi Umenyiora are past their primes. It's interesting to note that Atlanta's first official depth chart showed a nickel alignment with just two linebackers on the field.

Aside from Drew Brees? incredible ability to read defenses and find the open man, he also happens to be one of the most accurate passers alive. Few QBs, if any, can place a ball more accurately than him. It's these qualities that compensate for his relative lack of size or athletic ability.

The future Hall of Fame QB has thrown for over 5,000 yards four times in his career, including the last three years.

Lets hope he goes for 5,000 yds Sunday at 1:00

NFL 1-1 - $ 619.00

Well that ended up as a shootout and the Falcons somehow manage to come out
on top.

I got news for New Orleans. With that defense on the road they are going to be in
trouble. They might have been 4th in d last year but they didnt record a sack that I saw on Ryan.

very unlike the Falcons to win that game.

two 50 yd fg :scared
