Atlanta Jason Marquis

it was reported this morning that Jason Marquis father was hit by a car a week ago trying to cross a street in Staten Island. He suffered multiple injuries including a collapsed lung and two broken ankles. Marquis spent two days with him and will see him again on the road trip to Philly and the Mets.

This is Jason Marquis first start as a full time member of the Braves rotation. Not sure how this would affect a persons focus in a positive or negative way.

any thoughts ?


oh yeh this was the game that I think Raymond told us to watch for as Jason Marquis as #4 starter would have value over other teams #4 starter.

jm is probley the best #4 of any staff,i was talking about it in a write up last week and how hot he was at the end of spring.

he is a know mess around guy,doesnot go running around on road,and is all about baseball the party life can wait till he is done with ball in 10-15 years that was a statement from him to a reporter as to why he always seems to be working out and working extra leo,he will be at the top with the braves big 2.

he will want to do even better because his dad was his teacher.

thanks fletcher , I couldnt remember if it was you or Raymond that talked about it.

I believe he has the motivation then to really do well. The thing about the Braves as always, if they get a pitcher that they havnt seen before the bats go in hibernation.
