Have they really changed their defensive philosophy or have they just played better D and had better goaltending in their last 2 games?

The reason why I ask this question is we might have an opportunity to get some good value on their totals until the linesmakers catch on.

The number has been set at 6 for nearly all of their games this year. We will see a shift to 5 1/2 if they continue to get some unders over the next couple of games.

chenker,

Early lines for tomorrow night has the total at 6 against T.O.
I don't think ATL is that much better defensively then they were 10 days ago, all it seems to be is that the forwards are paying more attention to their defensive responsibilities. When you look at the ATL D. it makes you wonder how they compete on most nights when Trembaly & Kaberle are your better defenders.

not to mention when tampa is one of the teams that you have held in check(and they had played in tampa the night before) well tampa's offensive woes are documented(as is their defensive style)

didnt watch them(atlanta/tampa didnt even have a tv broadvast i believe) the last few nights so i may be out of the dark, but as Horns mentioned, their main defenders are no hall of famers...

Might be true but against the Leafs it can go either way. Leafs offense has been good this year, and their newly revamped powerplay has been clicking as of late. Toronto could easily put up 5 goals here.

Not to mention that Toronto got stoned on Sat against a redhot Theodore (Montreal). Leafs were robbed in that game, they all walked out of that game thinking they should have won, some players interviewed said that it was the best goaltending performance against them this year.

Leafs know that this week is their chance to put some room between them and the crowded upper echelon of the Eastern conf. They play some weaklings in Atlanta and Nashville before taking on Philly.
