Looks like al qaida gets a pass on this one. These folks were dumb enough to let a cell phone lead police to them. I thought it was strange Ben and the boys had not told the world it was there doing. They always seem to make sure the world knows of there devil deeds in a few hours time. So many countries have there own idiots. Just like we do.

Spain Says Al Qaeda Claims Blasts Responsibility

MADRID (Reuters) - Spanish police have recovered a videotape claiming responsibility for the deadly Madrid rail bombings in the name of Islamic militant group al Qaeda, Interior Minister Angel Acebes said on Sunday.

"It's a claim made by a man in Arabic with a Moroccan accent. He makes the declaration in the name of someone who says he is the military spokesman of al Qaeda in Europe," he told reporters. Wel the fricking report I saw mention no al gaida. Mention inside spain cell of some dam name and the moroccan connection. That was it. Was cnbc report. Made sence to me because Bin and the boys were not out there telling the world how bad they were as they always do. If there is tie in cnbc was wrong.

Well Fox just did about 10 minutes on this. They are not sure who they should blame as of 1 hour ago. So this is not cut and dry. In fact some in Spain are saying the government of Spain may be with hoading info. Why? There is a election tomorrow. Of course all this is being denied. Keep in mind the country of Spain was split 50/50 against there involvement in Iraq.
Thks Wilson im proud to be here.

The pres of Spain did not seek another term DJV. He was as you call it "out on the street" by his own choice.

However not sure he would have won if he had run. After all his,and the Popular Party's, only accomplishments in 8 years were

" Bringing Spain eight straight years of economic growth, made it a founding member of the euro single currency, cut unemployment in half and brought a degree of prominence to a long-ignored country"

---now we'll see what the liberal side of Spain, the Socialist can do.
One thing about it and it may have been coincidental as the Socialist may have won anyway--but it sure put glimmer of hope in terrorists eyes as they perceive that their atrocities were the cause of election results.

Without question it was a stunning victory for both the liberals and the terrorists. Celebrations are in order for both.

One thing to keep in mind while doing all the celebrating and I think Jack Straw of the UK said it best yesterday-----

"There are some people who have convinced themselves that the attacks of September 11, 2001 took place after the Iraq invasion in 2003," Straw said.

"And they have forgotten, too, how al Qaeda was involved in the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 or the attacks on U.S. embassies in 1998 in which hundreds of people died.

"One thing I am clear about is that al Qaeda will go on and would have gone on irrespective of the war in Iraq, until they are firmly stopped."

Yeah and why they go back to bread and water in a few years bitching about decline in their country and also while the new bleeding heart leader runs them into the ground and pulls his whole 1300 people out of Iraq, first sign of any threat to them they will come calling for help be it aid as in resources and money or protection. That bomb was well timed:shrug: So sad people had to die for stupid stuff and we get the blame thou, yes it was the unitrd states fault we pulled them in with us, Here is a idea to all who says bush has runied us with Iraq, how about all the countries we have gave or called loaned money to to help their counties feed their poor, get medical needs and supplies and for other reasons , hey maybe pay us back and we would be in great shape. fuk them all when they start this blame game, but like I said the first phone to ring will be the united states.

Ok so the one the ex Pres of spain supported lost. Is This is a win for Terrorest? Could Be. Also maybe a win that folks would like the whole truth from there government. Could be alittle of both .I never did see Spain as such a huge supporter to start with. I know everyone was always saying, ya Spain's in there with us. Lets see1300 troops out of 150000. What is that less then 1%. Chit we can get along with out such large support.

imo, spain made a major blunder by electing this socialist party into power. by pulling out their troops from iraq, they are playing right into the terrorist's hands. alqaeda won a victory by turning an election around.

there goes my trip to spain next year.

Good morning Fletch. Hey I think everyone was onboard when we went to Afgan to hunt down the killers Bin and his gang. Where the fall off started and questions were raised. Well we be through this a lot. Was the rush to Iraq before we finished in Afgan. I dont care about Iraq as much as Bin as his gang of assholes. Saddam would have been ready for plucking anytime.

why should spain be any different

why should spain be any different

than the rest of europe?....as soon as blair goes, most of the important european countries will be anti-american....

does that surprise anyone?....not me...the sleazy, spineless bastids have been burying their heads in the sand for 3/4 of a century......the spaniards would obviously rather run from the problem...it`s alot easier than dealing with it...

"the terrorists achieve political victory through terrorism"...there`s a beautiful message to send to the world....

f-ck spain...

maybe it`ll be good for kerry to win the election....it will be interesting to see how all these "capitulators" handle the deadly serious terrorist problem and protect this country.....

rescind the patriot act...rescind all programs designed to keep the u.s. secure....

downsize the military....downsize the secret service......while syria, iran,n. korea and the rest of these "pillars of stability" work toward nuclear proliferation.... .don`t dare even think about using any kind of profile to identify potential threats.....

we`ll be bloodied, but the aclu and the lawyers will be happy...

it could get very interesting....i wish i didn`t live so close to D.C........

I am giving Spain the benefit of doubt for now---as there are many.even if not the majority that supported us same as S Korea and most other countries. Europe is on the verge of some very scary times as they are the recipient of the largest Muslim influx in past 2 years. Don't think they fully comprehend the mindset of these terrorist. Case in point--this is how the parents of boys that did suicide bombings in Isreal with anticipation of setting of lethal chemicals with it.

"Sunday's bombing was the fourth attack carried out jointly by Al Aqsa and Hamas in recent weeks. The bombers, Mahmoud Salem and Nabil Massoud, attended the same mosque. One of their relatives initially said they were in the same class, but it turned out they attended different schools. Their fathers described them as devout Muslims and said they were proud of their sons."

Maybe they ought to take these fathers family's, tie em together and set off bomb in there mist while they watch so they can feel more pride as they are allowed to gather up the pieces.
