Auburn -5 over Virginia Tech

After checking some things out, I believe Auburn wins this soundly and creates at least a stir in the AP poll. No doubt that Virginia Tech is a very good team and could give the Tigers some troubles early, but Auburn is just too good on both sides of the ball to lose this one. And I can't see a backdoor in this one if the Tigers are looking to create havoc in the final polls, whether they get their wish is another story.

Two concerns that many have about this Tigers team:

1. They struggled against LSU and were "lucky" to get the win.

Just remember that LSU was highly ranked coming in to the contest and they had not lost a single game in quite some time. LSU had to have the mental edge coming into the game but Auburn was able to get the win. . . this was their coming out party and I don't see it as a question mark as to how good this team really is even though LSU wasn't the same as last year.

2. They struggled against Tennessee in the SEC championship game.

Play a good team twice in the same season and you're bound to split. Auburn still won both games and Tennessee learned from their first meeting which was a blowout. Virginia Tech isn't as lucky. . . you can look at film all you want but it isn't the same. Also, the Vols were playing their best ball at the end of the season which was evident in their convincing win over Texas A&M.

The public is all over the Tigers which is a concern and the line has dropped from where it opened but I still believe this is a very strong play.

Gonna copy this to my thread in the other forum so it will be slightly redundant but every once in a while I like to do a wheel play if I feel solid about one particular play. Tonight I feel extremely confident in Auburn winning straight up.. . so I will take the ML (-250) and play 5 two-team parlays with teams that I like in college basketball on the ML:

Xavier
Utah
St. Peters
Pepperdine
Miami (NBA)

If you feel confident in Auburn, give it a try :scared
