Race is only a few days away and only thing up anywhere is odds to win. I guess the books want to see this new qualifying scenario before they put anything up for it :(.

Also with points now awarded to top 8 drivers I assume points betting goes down the tube also

I shouldn't ... ( might rain, first race of the season...) but i want action!!!! :D

Race match ups:

all at WSEX....

Alonso +110 over button (3 units)

BAR are not reliable. At least one of the cars shouldn't make it to the end. Hope it is this one! ;)

Da matta -120 over firman -120 (3 units)

Are you kidding me? The Cart Champ at -120 over an unknown driver? If his car hold on , this one looks like an easy win to me...

Coulthard -125 over ralf (2 units)

Frentzen -130 over panis (1 unit)

Lines from OLY...

Frentzen -140 over villeneuve (1 unit)

Sauber is usually more reliable than a BAR and Frentzen is a master on wet track...

Verstappen +100 over pizzonia (1 unit)

And for those who have extra $$$ here's what i have found that might help you make a nice chunk of $$$

To finish in the top 8

Verstappen +600 for 1/2 unit
Wilson +700 for 1/2 unit

Finish Podium : Field +4000 for 1/2 unit

Now you're gonna say: what is he smoking???
 :look: :weed: taking both Minardi's driver to finish in the top 8???

Let me explain you something...:)

As we saw last night, both Minardi didn't qualify because they didn't want to have their cars on a closed park. They took profit of the grey zone of the rule about qualifying and the FIFA officials said they can't do anything about it for this wekend. Watch them making some change for the next race!!! :) Anyhow, Minardi's car can get as much set up as they want(full tank and so on...) and IF there is rain for today they will be ready with Rain tires and rain set up while the others have to start with yesterday's set up!!! Imagine a wet track or rain at the beginning!!!:D :thefinger Others will have to pit while both Minardi will be running up front!!! It worth a shot at +600 and +700. If the car can be reliable they have a shot at the top 8. The field at +4000? Why not? We have both Minardi drivers + Firman and Pizzonia. Who knows what's gonna happens? I just wish some rain....;)

the land of confusion
Damp and grey outside 1837. Only going on 10am race morning, but I reckon rain could fall anytime soon.
I hope it pisses down for you!!
Good luck with the picks. Hopefully I can find some matches with my books. Can't find number of cars to finish this race

That's the good news Paw Thanks! but the bad is that i've read officials will delay the race of 15 minutes if it's raining to let teams to change their set up in the closed park (a way to say :thefinger to Minardi strategy...:( ) Shit.. no more advantage then...

Only posted on the odd race last year - but going to try + post a bit more this year, although obviously concentrating more on the UK books.

3pts Sauber v BAR (points match bet) 11/10 Blue Square - looks the bet of the day to me - reliable (kiss of death ;) ) Sauber vs quick but flaky BAR - getting odds against + are in front on the grid a it stands ( although it looks like Sauber ran a light fuel load yesterday).

matches:
1pt Raikkonen v Ralf 11/10 Ladbrokes
1pt Alonso v Button 1/1 Blue Sq

Podium finish -1pt Raikkonen 12/1 Sporting Odds - Would have been much further up the grid but for a mistake + has the bottle to do the overtaking neccessary ( doesn't talk much tho', does he! )

Points finishers: 1pt each Webber 10/1 and Verstappen 12/1 both Sporting Odds.com (1837 can you get this book?)

Cleaned up on this last year, not so keen this year, but the information from PAWA has tipped me :p
so-
2pts less than 10 finishers 6/4 Paddy Power

good luck to all for the season + hope plenty of people chip in to the threads :)

the land of confusion
12:25pm Track still wet with constant drizzle.....Three preliminary races had plenty of crashes and 'offs'...

Get all over that 'less than 10 finishers' bet if I were you. ;)
Plenty of carnage to come in the big race with few finishing in these conditions I'd expect, let alone the reliability issues.
No sign of the weather clearing.

I would think that Schumacher will disappear from site out in front and leave the rest to slide from calculations. Take whatever you can get for Michael.

Ok here goes at Centrebet

Podium Finish for Coulthard at 4.75 for 5 units

Will They Be Classified?

Olivier Panis - NO 2.3
Cristiano da Matta - NO 1.75
Ralph Firman - NO 1.6
Mark Webber - NO 1.65
Antonio Pizzonia - NO 1.6

Hell I'm tempted to bet NO on everyone but the Ferraris and McLarens.

Pit strategy should be interesting here. Looks like Kimi will be on one-stop strategy. Have to assume everyone else stops at least twice.

Sorry if I lead anyone astray with the weather. It was raining at my place yet over at the track it dried up significantly during the early part of the race. Certainly catching teams off guard.

Great sweep to you :hail 1837 continuing on your good form and thankyou Myron for the Coulthard podium call and non finishers. Rode all of them home for a handy profit :D
Schumacher the rare 'stinker' of the day costing me.
It looks like we might have an interesting season ahead of us at last.

Well done once again to everyone
