Avalanche-Blues game postponed due to weather

Tuesday's game between the Colorado Avalanche and the St. Louis Blues has been postponed because of the weather.

There's a "blizzard watch" in effect in St. Louis and people are being urged to stay home. The NHL didn't immediately announce a makeup date

Avalanche team was already in StLouis and their departure back home might be delayed. The Avalanche's next game is Thursday night at home against Minnesota.

The Avs got official word as they were on the team bus, heading back to the hotel after today's morning skate.

Their hope was to try to get to the St. Louis airport and return to Denver on their chartered plane. But as of this afternoon, that plan faced potential snags because of the worsening conditions that had caused most commercial flights out of St. Louis to be canceled this morning.
