bab`s has a point

bab`s has a point

i love that babs....i don`t know why,but she reminds me of a poignant story from my youth...

reminds me of the time my father walked into my bedroom and caught me jacking off.....my father told me,"son,if you don`t stop jacking off, you`ll go blind".....

to that i responded,"dad,i`m over here"..........

that babs is something special...thank you for helping me reminisce(sigh)..............

it baffles me that our culture place any importance on what a celebrity thinks about an issue. their political views are no more important than any other voter's opinion. they should not be given a public platform to voice their political point of view. their opinion does not mean any more than anyone else. i am talking about any celebrity whether dem., or rep., or liberal or conservative. who cares what they think.

If you remember, prior to the last election, Babs and a few of her friends stated publicly that if Bush won the election, she would move out of the United States. We're still waiting. That mansion on several acres of coastline off Malibu remains her humble abode. In fact, she has recently sued a man whose project was photographically mapping the coast of California. Evidently, he had Bab's house in one shot of thousands from quite a distance away. She felt he invaded her privacy and sued even though neither he nor anyone else knew it was hers until she made a fuss about it.

I understand the contempt many have for celebrities talking politics but perhaps someone could tell me what Babs said in that article that is anti-American in any way or deserves to be ridiculed.

"Afterall, why should wealthy people such as myself receive a tax cut? I will be the first to admit that I don?t need it."
Great Babs. Why not donate some of that money directly to the source and not strictly to the Democratic Party?

"What we all need is a healthy government that can provide the services (such as education, health care, national and homeland security) that we all depend on."
Yeah...more free stuff for everybody!

"Now is the time in history when Blacks and Jews, along with Latinos, Asians, Women, Gays and all ?others? have the potential to work together. Together we can eradicate not only racism, sexism, anti-Semitism and homophobia, but also the poverty, corruption in government, destruction to our environment, corporate control, undermining of our civil liberties and a woman?s right to choose, and ongoing warfare that threaten us all."
Great idea Babs, what about the White people? Oh..they are the "others"? While this is a wonderful plan, only a blithering idiot like BS would imagine for a second that it could happen. Maybe if she lived in the real world, she would understand that despite the benefits we would all receive by working together to eradicate undesireable things, it is going to take more than her urging for that to happen.

She has the right to say anything she wants - but when someone of her wealth and status lectures like this, explain to me what good is done? FInd me a poor Black, Latino, Asian, woman or gay that buys into this BS from BS's mouth. It is easy to pontificate from atop the pedestal.

Actually other than the tax cut comment I think you would be hard pressed to find George Bush disagreeing with the other two statements you pointed out.

Surprise. The rich got even richer between 1992 and 2000. So now we can blame that on Clinton instead of Bush. Even tho last two years show there still hoalding there own. Thats the rich. While many middle classe folks have slipped lower. And those just below the middle class cant quite get there. So Bush and Clinton both at fault. I guess I was surprised. The Clinton tax hike on the rich in 1993 was going to ruin the rich. I guess he didn't nail them hard enough. There dooing very well thank you.
As for actors and alike with what they have to say. I just turn in CSPAN some days and watch many actors. Its called congress. And we pay there salaries.

i wonder why babs feels the need....

i wonder why babs feels the need....

to be so public with her politics....

i also wonder why babs lives up in that secure, gated community up in chi chi malibu?....maybe to keep her newfound friends and political compadres from dropping in for coffee?......hmmmmmm

maybe she had a heart to heart with her puerto rican maid?....

why her career has kinda` hit the wall....maybe because she charges around 3 or 4 hundred bucks a pop to see her perform....only rich republicans can afford to go to her concerts.....

i have to admit i never liked her....don`t hate her...just kind of felt apathetic towards her...

i thought she looked sort of like david brenner in drag in yentl....
