JIM JOYCE is calling balls and strikes anyone that knows baseball knows this guy is a hitter's umpire. I just hope Pedro doesn't get tossed when he stares Joyce down for the 3000th time this season. I dug up the stats on Joyce:
W/L O/U Runs Strike % HR PIT.
Joyce, Jim 19-14 20-7 10.00 63.2 2.9 285.9
The over is 20-7 this year when Joyce is BHP.

But all of the trends associated with both pitchers point to UNDER
Zito's last eight starts vs. BOS have played under
Under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in OAK
And the Sox don't like to score runs when Pedro pitches.

Trends that say BOSTON, baby:
Martinez was 14-4 when starting this year.
BOS is 7-3 in Martinez' last 10 starts overall.

Something that must give for the Sox to pull it off:
OAK has won their last six home games.

With Joyce behind the plate OVER 7 is obtainable. My predicted score:

Red Sox 7 Oak 2...WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN CLOSER
