Not sure what to make of it other than I know the "Pro-Crimson" press in this state will not do any in depth "investigative journalism" to find out any mis-doings by the Tide. I believe Ball State was put on probation for what sounds like the same thing? Anybody out there that has some more info please reply. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your interest fellows but I did not start this thread so you could make smart-ass comments. Would really like to know any inside info, that is all. Not trying to bash Bama and I know that Auburn has had some troubles in the past as well. Just info relative to the subject, please.

Well then dont start with the premise that the press is keeping it quiet to help Bama. Got news for you.....Auburn's stuff isnt all in the past, though I am not sure TT is involved in any of it...and it doesnt seem to get reported on by the Bama press either. Post-Fulmer it seems it is a free for all in the SEC as nobody wants to be a tattle tale.

Not trying to bash 'Bama? You Awbies live for that! :142smilie

Everything that I'm reading in the "pro-Crimson" papers is that it's 5 or 6 players maximum. At Ball State the infractions involved 89 athletes in 10 sports from the spring semester of 2003 to the end of the 2004-05 school year. 'Bama has been proactive to date on this. The situation involving the football players was discovered Thursday, less than 48 hours before Alabama faced Tennessee, and the school said the probe began "in earnest" on Friday morning. I know you want something big to come from this, but don't get too excited. Should the "extra benefits" total less than $100, they can regain their eligibility by repaying the amount to a charity. If it is more than $100, the punishment becomes more complicated. Believe me, I'll be the first one to call for people's heads if this becomes a big deal.

Alabama suspended five players for the Tennessee game, including three starters, one of which graduated in three and a half years and is working towards another degree. They are accused of selling textbooks, just a horrible offense

It's not a big deal. This is as far as it goes and nothing will come of it. Trust me. We are way to smart to give the NCAA A$$es any fire power to bring us down. :00hour

Thanks for the interest in this post everyone. My apologizes to any of the Bammers I offended. I'm sure it was an honest mistake made by these young kids and they deserve a second chance. Best of Luck against LSU!!!!!
