Barack Obama campaigned on the mantel of change...

As another election has come to pass, the folks have given the Democrats the ball and have pretty much excepted and expect that more needs to come from our government..

Many may have voted for changed, but is this change what Americans really want? Since the fall of Lehman's and the severity of the financial collapse still unknown and the new Democratic administration underway, we are starting to get hints of major change and change that will certainly have us looking more like France.

I do give Barack Obama credit for at least showing outward signs that he is very capable of listening to and engaging with conservatives.. Both sides have very deep and different view points that run on ideological lines..However, Speaker Pelosi and Harry Reid have different ideas on what it means to be bipartisan..

It's very clear that House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority leader Reid, have no intension for compromise or even allow Republicans to be part of the legislative process on the stimulus program..This will probably not happen so much in the Senate, unlike the blatant arrogant behavior of the House Democrats pushing their version of the stimulus program without Republicans support and the bill has nothing to do with stimulating the economy in the near-term..

Republicans were right in not voting for this huge spending package..

We elected our leaders to lead, not slobber at the trough like hogs... This spending package of $819B at the present known, was just to satisfy and pay back their campaign contributors and disguise it as a stimulus package..Speaker Pelosi is not known for her communication skills as we have witnessed many times..Whenever she is in front of a microphone or making her rounds on the Sunday talk circuit, her very inarticulate speaking style has left her with more egg on her face and rightfully so..Speaker Pelosi has been very disingenuous to President Bush and Republicans during her tenure as Speaker of the House..She speaks often of bipartisanship and the desire to work with the other side, only to find herself unwilling to..She invented "Just say No" The Democrats have effectively through their surrogates, the liberal press, in demeaning President Bush and Republicans are all corrupt..

Say what you want about President Bush, but this family left the White House with dignity and style..Unlike Clinton, who left the White House like College Students leaving a Frat house..They stole public property, maliciously vandalized office equipment and other childish pranks and on top of that, making a spectacle of themselves by having going away parties that the liberal press was all to eager to apart of...

Interestingly how things change..We hear of change, only to see the reincarnation of the Clinton Administration, into key cabinet positions..These are the very same folks, under their watch, terrorist attack of the 1st Trade Center, the USS Cole and various Embassy attacks and that miserable attempt to successfully complete a military exercise on Somalia and lets not forget 9/11...Yes, the Clinton Administration was neglect and resulted with 9/11... What in the name of god are they thinking!

These are the same folks that gutted the Intelligence Agency and crippled our military and defense..They had Osama Ben laden in their sites at least 8 times and decided that there wasn't enough evidence to whack the guy.

Top key positions are all former Clinton loyalists..First you have Eric Holder, the #2 under the Janet Reno Justice Department and now appears to take the top slot..Incredible!..This one guy has more questionable points in his public career than Carter has liver pills..Bill Panetta, heads the CIA and was Chief of Staff under Clinton and a position that does get involved with daily Intelligence briefings..Where was he when all this intelligence was pointing to Osama Ben Laden.....Remember 9/11...

However, I like Hillary in her new position as Secretary of State..She brings much more to this position then Madeline Albright, who I consider an enabler and appeaser..I'm not totally convinced that she fully qualifies her for this position because of her status as former First lady and Senator, but be as it may, I believe just from her demeanor and past strong arm tactics during hubbies Presidential campaign, she is a fighter..

Lets talk briefly on the Economy and the Financial melt-down that we are currently in..Here again we have many Clinton holdouts and the new head of the Treasury and IRS, can't even file his own proper taxes and was delinquent as with Rep. Charlie Rangel, Dem. from New York, also can't seem to get it right either and pay their fair
share or understand the income tax code, the very same committee and agency these folks head. Now we hear about Senator Dashal's tax cheating ways..Only the Democrats ignore their own members misgivings..The Democrat ideology is both Hypocritical and a clear Double-Standard..Both parties have slimeballs, but the Democrats always seem to acknowledge Republicans faults, but praise their members with reelections...You can't dig a whole deep enough to reach the threshold of Morality under their leadership..They just don't have the decency to rule..

This melt-down didn't happen over night and many folks are responsible for this major economic disaster and on both sides..Of course you have the critics again blaming Bush..

Remember Robert Rubin? He was a Obama adviser.. This cat was very much in the lead in deregulation in the financial sector with many Democrats in tow..Robert Rubin was Clinton's Head of the Treasury and just resigned shameless CEO of Citigroup...How about the Democrats retirement home, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae..If there was any one agency or group responsible for the housing and sub-prime mess, it's the Democrats and Freddie and Fannie.. Rep.Barney Frank D-Mass a dishonest blame someone else and Senator Dodd,Conrad, all got special VIP loans with points shaved and not a peep out of these dishonest representatives, other than the same old slogans, "I have done nothing wrong"...

If anyone of these individuals were Republicans, not one would be confirmed, or in office..Democrats have a very low threshold in the way of Morals or Value and certainly they have never governed on Principle...You have witnessed this just from the confirmation hearings..We have now tax cheats and questionable legal folks that seem not to have taken great detail on what is ethical or not, or is it lawful..It seem Democrats could care less..It is for this reason why divided government is an absolute must..

There are ideological differences between Republicans and Democrats, but interestingly, when you come down to the individual level or family levels like in your neighborhood, during school sports games or other local events, both appear to want the same, but yet, when one takes a overview look at both Ideology, Democrats clearly take the low road in almost all of their beliefs or what is decent..I've talked to friends of mine and family that vote Dem., but would never consider raising their families on totally liberal or secular progressive ideology...Many consider themselves more conservative in Values and Morally in strong beliefs, but see many contradictions..Why they vote liberal is beyond my pay level and Republicans need to come around on their sound principles and get back to their core beliefs..

Thank you RNC for electing former Lt. Governor Michael Steele from Maryland as the head of the RNC for the next two years..Good to see him in a leadership role.

I have never understand the polls that say America is going into the wrong direction..Now that the Democrats are in power and if that power is an example from the stimulus package, we are in deep trouble and indeed America is going into the wrong direction...Democrats govern on the assumption that we the folks, are too stupid to empower ourselves and your life is better handled by big government..I do not consider our Democratic leaders with great thought or vision..The last two years when the Democrats have taken control of Congress, they have tried to ram legislation and make laws without consideration or the consequences. They are creating a Nanny state and trying to remove as many folks off the tax program and create a welfare state only next to Europe.. This is socialism!

Yes Obama got 54% of the vote, but when one breaks down this vote, you will notice that the African-America overwhelmingly voted for Obama because they feel as spoken many times by Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpten that they are victims and we are entitled..Yes, the entitlement class carried Obama across the finish line and the Hispanic vote not far behind...The overwhelming Young vote also contributed to his success, but this block may see or want change, but really doesn't see the larger picture, and basically is immature....Now these three voting blocks inherently believe that government should be empowered not the people..They want services and handouts without self responsibility..This is the ultimate goal of the Democrats, create a Nanny State that will almost make folks feel worthless...

Socialism does not work and one just needs to see this on the European Continent..France's GDP is moot and the countries unemployment rate is in the crapper..The government of France is the largest employer at over 60%..Many European countries have similar problems..Marriage and good decent family values is nonexistent..Sweden has no birth rate and marriage is on the decline..Democrats in this country are showing a desire to mimic the European Model and this will and I'm not sure this is what Americans want..Democrats may be in power, but that will be short lived, since we have elections every 2 years and if the Republicans can stall some of these legislative process and show that Democrats have a strange skew of their vision, the folks will throw the worthless bums out and chance course..

My birth country of Holland is an example how secular progressive ideology is nothing more than society's allowance that everything is accepted from Euthanasia, legalized drugs, to prostitution, abortion and everything else that is a counter-weight to good decent values..High taxes and complete government control from cradle to grave...I have lived in Canada upon leaving Holland in the late 50s, and at the time, Canada based it's culture on conservative principles...Twenty years or so ago, Canada made a complete turnaround and is now liberal..I moved to the states in the 60's because of free market and capitalism, yes capitalism..Two years later I enlisted in the USMC and Viet-nam and other exciting places to fight for freedom...America is still the most free and governs on solid Judeo Christen principles and values...All this will go away with liberal ideology..

With all the concern over terrorism, I have little to no faith that Obama and his fellow Democrats can keep us save.. They just don't have the spine to take the fight to the enemy and rambling calls for strong civil liberties and equal process, which I can appreciate, doesn't matter if your dead..President Bush did what he had to do and tinkering with our civil liberties down at our level is really immaterial.. The electronic snooping is a must and needs to be kept in place...

So far we have seen little change that will benefit us and frankly and the American people will come to realize that we are heading for hard times...

The change Obama and Democrats want is troublesome and very disturbing..This past week Obama said that Unions aren't the problem but the solution..Oh really!! Where has he been in the last 30 years..Unions have wrecked the Steel industry, crippled the Auto companies, put the airlines in a losing position and the Dept of Education hasn't been right since it's birth..America has lost it's manufacturing base because of the ridiculous demands put in place by the Unions..Dept of Education is an example why Union control is out of kilter...There is no merit or the incentive for Union folks that work for the government to excel to their best..So now we hear that Unions would like to do away with the Secret Ballot Initiative for open elections.. Is this want we really want? Workers intimidated by Union folks and their Wiseguys looking on..It sounds like the Unions will be the forbearer of the new economy..

The Fairness Doctrine was established in the 20s for radio to hear both sides, which was good and then reversed in the 80s..This was reversed since there are now many venues to hear all sides of a debate..Now the liberals feel they need that law back, because they feel they aren't heard..Oh really! What about the 80% of liberal media that caters to liberal causes and bashes conservative ideology daily..Liberals don't get it..The folks don't want to listen to hate speeches on a daily basis..Their most liberal radio station, Air America in New York, a staunch liberal strong hold, can't stay afloat because people don't want to be subject to their ranting and stupid diatribe of daily hate crap..They stayed afloat by secretly siphoning off funds from other sources..

I want President Obama to succeed and be successful. I do not want the Democrats to succeed with their secular progressive agenda that takes away everything we were to believe is good, honest and decent..

Wake up America, we are heading in the wrong direction and if you continue to embrace the likes of Pelosi and Reid's ideology, San Francisco lifestyle will be in your neighborhood coming soon..

Have a good day

Ending a 'serious' article with a statement like this, basically negates it all.

The article is (mostly) about economics and foreign policy. What on Earth does a "San Francisco" lifestyle have to do with those issues?

San Francisco is a huge job, education, and cultural center. Isn't that good for the economy and country?

The article was somewhat garbage to begin with, but ending it by saying "wake up America or else your son will turn gay" is just retarded.

smurphy prefers a much shorter take on things, this simply will not fly.

[thanks for the effort - presuming it's main intent was to drive people to your Website, tho, and the underlying distaste for anything left of center certainly came shining through]

Really much more blantantly obvious choices on the change rhetoric.

1st no lobbyist in admin--now after Lynn and Dashale its--

"If you are a lobbyist entering my administration, you will not be able to work on matters you lobbied on or in the agencies you lobbied during the previous two years," he said. "When you leave government, you will not be able to lobby my administration for as long as I am president."

O Pre election rhetoric --won't be old washington game--but who does he get but full slate of chi/washington insiders.

Has tax cheats heading IRS--then healthcare lobbyist/$120,000 tax cheat heading healthcare--and there are still a few sheep that continue believe his Tony Robbins pitches--

--So now we have O saying no prob on Dashale--lobbyist ties--evading taxes--just little mistakes--which to him with his own history of -not the man I knew--error in judgement--etc is simply a long list of socializing with wrong elements--yep lots of change and hope so far--and ink isn't even dry on nomination yet.

As Mr B said in other thread--all he has/had to do is cut em when the shit hits the fan
--he gots some good points in stimulus--go with them and cut the pork and entitlement/payback/pandering items.

I was hoping and thought at one point he might be his own man and lead by convictions he spoke of--but quite obvious my worst assumptions "all hat no cattle" have been right on. :nooo:

Why do they always use San Francisco as the icon of evil?
