"the bunker"
words can`t describe the anticipation this fight has created....the first fight was the greatest fight i`ve ever seen(because these two fighters are a full notch or two above ward and gatti skill wise)....barrera is one of my favorite fighters, and over the last couple years has actually improved greatly.....morales has not fought the caliber of opposition of barrera and over the last several years has plateaued....but,i have an enormous gut hunch that morales is approaching this fight as a crusade.... everybody who watched the first fight knows barrera won convincingly.....and morales knew(in his heart)that he lost....he has not yet had that career defining win that catapults him into the top pound for pound rankings.....this is it...grudge match times 10....morales has been studying barrera`s losses to junior jones...off recent history, barrera looks like the obvious play....olympic has morales at +160(way to high)...going against obvious logic and my rooting interest and riding a gut feeling with morales....barrera desrves to win after the first fight(he looked much stronger),but i expect morales to be a little cuter this time...i hate going against common sense, but, going with my gut here.more to come.gl

also on the undercard

also on the undercard

taking mexican challenger fernando montiel over panamanian champ pedro alcazar at -150...montiel has fought much stiffer competition and is the heavier puncher.

How much is PPV for this fight? Any idea?

It really ought to be a humdinger. I don't like the prices here too much. Usually when a fight goes to the cards, I like the loser in the rematch, which would be barrera here. That's a lot to lay for me in a fight where he went the distance with thise opponent previously.

Maybe the judges want to make up for it? I don't know. I think if it goes to the cards, barrera had a much better chance of winning a close fight.

Barrera has looked better than Morales since the first fight, especially in kicking the Prince's ass (man I loved that fight. I can't stand the Prince). Morales squaked by Espada last year in a fight he should have dominated. I'm sure he's ready for this one, though.

Both want to prove they won that first fight.

It's not every day, though, that you'll get a guy who's 41-0 getting +160 against a guy he already "beat".

I'm probably laying off this one, unless I get the PPV, but if I had to bet, I'd take Barrera -175 (@ wwts). You can get about 2-1 on a Barrera KO, which isn't out of the question either. He's a good puncher.

Good luck. Hopefully I'll get to see this saturday, but if not, I'll defintiely catch it on HBO the following week.

i think it`s $39.00.....check out the back page adds in popular mechanics.....might help you with pay per view bills:nono: ;) ......the main undercard bout pits panamanian alcazar against mexican montiel(both undefeated)....should be an excellent bout...also anxious to see ray mercer-klitschko odds....mercer has a granite chin and hits like a mule....both klitschko brothers have strange losses on their records(some attribute both losses to lack of heart-something mercer has in abundance)...if mercer is a substantial dog(which he may be),i am taking a shot with him as a live underdog....a stupid and very dangerous fight for klitschko to take at this point in his career.gl.

Quick question for you guys about Morales. A friend of mine told me that he has never been knocked down in this career? Is this true? Or has he just never been knocked out?

I agree the value is with Morales. I do have a small worry about the "judge factor" in a close fight since Barrera is the hot commodity now, but I think Morlaes style (strong jab, solid skills) will win out.

important info for those gambling on the fight

important info for those gambling on the fight

barrera is represented by promoter forum boxing,an organization that barely exists and has no clout in vegas...morales is promoted by bob arum`s top rank boxing that is headquartered in vegas and brings mucho dinero into town.....

On the lake. Setting hooks!
i like barrera. I believe he has more motivation to win the fight. even thou everbody knows barrera won the first fight. its still listed as a loss on his record. i thinks he wants to avenge that. also i believe the law of averages will catch up to morales tonight. he due to get a loss on that record. it's hard for fighters to keep going out and not have something catch up to them and spoil that perfect record. he got lucky in the first fight with barrera. i can't wait for it. enjoy everybody.:D

didn`t think the first fight was close

didn`t think the first fight was close

in my eyes, barrera clearly won and almost stopped morales several times....the talk was that after the junior jones losses, morales didn`t expect that tough a fight from barrera....we now know barrera is a much more complete fighter since those losses.....i think morales and all mexicans consider the first fight a loss and is fighting for redemption....if barrera wins,i see no need for a rematch....barrera is one of my favorite fighters, but,my gut says morales is on a mission after getting sucker punched at their press conference.....my heart and logic say barrera,my gambling gut and wallet say morales.....i almost hope i`m wrong....p.s.-i am baffled at the odds and perception of morales.....you almost are forced to take him....vegas is absolutely disrespecting him .....this is a party for all boxing fans...everybody enjoy and good luck.

morales +170 at olympic?

morales +170 at olympic?

this guy is getting disrespected bigtime and it`s scaring me....these odds are outrageous for a fighter the caliber of morales with an enormous chip on his shoulder....he wanted the rematch right away after the first fight, but barrera opted for the prince(very smart move)....this guy has been hearing and reading how he really lost the first fight and then got sucker punched at the press conference.....i`m going against my boy barrera but i don`t blame anybody for betting barrera...he`s absolutely on top of his game....call me a sucker, but, the best odds i have ever seen with a great ,undefeated fighter.....i have to take the shot....

gardenweasel i like your pick of morales. last time out morales was weight drained but still took the best of barrera's punches. i think the bookies have overpriced morales due to his recent lacklustre performances and barrera's destruction of naz. value definitely lies with morales.

After betting against Floyd Mayweather you think I would have learnt my lesson. The trick to making money is to firstly pick the winner, secondly rely on boxing's trusty "Best man never wins" factor and cash in.

go figure

very sorry to anybody i swayed...was to stupid to see that the third fight was the biggest factor here....i really thought that barrera was the better fighter, but, liked morales in this spot....unfortunately,none of that mattered as morales should have won a decision...but,then there`s no third fight....money is destroying the boxing game...if barrera goes after morales,he probably wins easily, but,he gave away at least 5 of the first 6 rounds....116-112 barrera???this was in the bag....there will be a third fight.....boxing is so pathetic...i`m losing interest....again sorry guys...you have to factor in the politics when wagering on boxing...thank god montiel did his job.
