I played these two totals so far this morning and have a few more games I am working on........

MN Twins Vs. StL Cardinals Under 9 +100
Risking 2.00 units to win 2.00 units

Mays is a fantastic starter to begin with, has an ERA of 3.31 on the road, 2.70 for the month of July, and 2.21 for his "day" starts. If you check his pitching breakdown, he is strong late in the game as well. Hermanson has struggled for the most part early, no doubt about it. He may have found something in his last two starts though. For the month of July he has had an ERA of 2.08 in 13 IP. Overall his day starts have been impressive as well, posting an ERA of 3.14; both bullpens should be pretty much at full strength for the end of the game. Finally, this is not positive, but...... a potent Cardinal bat may be out today as Jim Edmonds bruised his shin yesterday..... Safe to say he will be hampered.

Cle Indians Vs. Hou Astros Over 12 -107
Risking 2.14 Units to win 2.00 Units

I honestly would have played the over on this game today if they would have posted the number of 14!!! Redding has given up right around a run per inning in his starts, this fact alone is not why I feel this over is strong. This is why, Westbrook is starting today for the Indians, a former reliever who has never gone past the 6th inning this season. Couple that with how the bullpen was used in that extra innings affair yesterday and you will need a caluclator to keep track of the runs scored in this one. (I HOPE). Shuey (11) pitches yesterday, Rincon (15), Wickman (12), Rodriguez (13), Baez (17), and Rocker (33). That pen is going to be a dragging arm tired group today. Oh, did I mention this game is being played at Enron field!

Will be back around 11am central with the rest of my plays.

LA Dodgers Vs. Pitt Pirates Over 7 1/2 -115
Risking 2.30 Units to win 2.00 Units

We all know how tired the whole Dodgers team will be after the extra inning game yesterday. But, what really makes this Over seem nice to me is the lack of bullpen prospects the Dodgers have for today's game. Yesterday's relievers with pitches thrown:
Orosco (3), Fetters (3), Shaw (24), Carrara (33), Herges (36), and Reyes (40). Since Brown has come off the DL he hasn't worked past the 6th inning. To top things off we will hopefully see that group called the Pirates bullpen today as well, who loves to give up runs. That number they put up must have been one they always attach to Kevin Brown's name and not this situation (7 1/2).

This is more or likely going to end up biting me, but here goes........

Chc Cubs -195 & AtL Braves -215 (Parlay)
Risking 1.75 to win 2.13 Units

I like both of these plays, but I refuse to lay this much chalk on two seperate plays so I will lower my risk. Cubs at home with Lieber, coming off back to back losses is solid. But, as stated earlier, Byrd was pushed back a day because of a sore arm. Good sign for an early exit. Bring on the Royals bullpen!! I like the Braves because of the fact TB should be quite fatigued in this game. They flew from Montreal to Atlanta and are playing in a day game. Gotta be tuff physically and mentally. Braves are also coming off a loss which makes playing this chalk a little easier to swallow.
