with Mlicki, versus Glavine?
Whoa, I don't know about that -- Mlicki is hardly what I would call "a big game pitcher."
Not that he hasn't been solid -- he has -- but this is not a scenario I'd look to lay big on Houston.

this is now a MUST win situation for HOUSTON.
in this case, i'd disregard the starter as HOUSTON hitters should bring their "A" game to the plate tomorrow.

I don't think you can ever disregard the starter. You are right about one thing, it is a MUST win situation for Houston.

where was the "A" game today? I would have thought that the Houston hitters would have brought there best out today...
they are a bunch of chokers and Milicki flat out is aweful...I would not be surprised if the brooms come out

Reasons I would not:
1. Milicki going
2. Glavine going
3. Houston's track record in the post season vs. ATL (1-7 now)
4. Biggio's and Bagwell's lack of production in the post season.
5. Houston's offensive struggles down the stretch.
Does not seem to be a good spot to go on a team "huge".

also of note, i believe chuck merriweather and his gigantic zone will be behind the dish in game 2, should help glavine a lot. otherwise i think houston would rip him but if he is getting 2 inches outside the black of the plate then he will hit that spot all night until they stop calling it a strike. houston is prey to the hard throwing righty - their lineup actually matches up well against glavine but not if he can start every hitter with a first pitch called strike. his so so 88 mph fastball is a lot more difficult when it's 3 inches outside at the knees. merriweather's zone will be the x factor here, i believe.....

Hou is done,I'm not going to kill time and money trying to figure out which (1) game they mite win.They don't have the sacks to recover.
The key here really is the ump. If Merriweather is his usual jolly self, Glavine the Road Warrior will have 10 Ks and some very pissed off frustrated batters swinging at pitches well off the outside corner.
Oak's best hope is to play small ball and hope their stud pitchers can keep it close.Yankees will be in their usual playoff mode watching lots of pitches and waiting for the A's to mess up. I see a 3-1 game here.
Braves, Yankees, Yanks under and Unit for me tomorrow. (And Ottawa on ice.)

hey TOR -- I am big on Houston game 3 actually -- Houston is a road team; So is atlanta -- Reynolds will pitch well most likely, and astros should hit Burkett's junk
I like Houston to get this one
Actually -- they are not out of it -- if Reynolds wins, you have Oswalt on the mound for game 4 -- he could give you a good game if healthy, then it would be back to Enron with Miller on the mound for game 5.....
This series is far from over...no matter how critical of the disastros I may be. Even with Dierker at the helm to screw it up......
