the under 9.5 seems to be a popular play in the yanks/toronto game....and i see the logic...but i am leaning towards the over here.....let me explain why...
1.) PETTITE...great opening day numbers no doubt ( so did Maddux)....but in 2002...who had the highest batting avg. against Pettite?...TORONTO...what stadium did Pettite allow the highest batting avg against?...SKYDOME...these numbers could be a bit decieving since he was not 100% for a lot of last season... i say could be because in 2001 the Bluejays had the second highest batting avg. vs. Pettite at 333....and guess what in 2001 Pettite's Batting avg against in the skydome was the second highest in the major leagues at 378.....Pettite has pitched two games with Kellog behind the plate and both were pretty high scoring....9-8 loss and 7-2 win
LIDLE...had a pretty solid year last year for oakland ....but he allowed a 340 batting avg. in games played on turf...in 2 games pitched on turf his ERA was 9.58...Kellog was behind the plate for one of his games ...a 6-2 loss to Baltimore...in one game pitched at the SkyDome Lidle has an ERA of 5.40...Yankees as a team hit 322 vs lidle last year
KELLOG....besides the above mentioned stats...in games where the total was 9.5 last year the over was 5-2 in games he umped...in Kellog's last 4 games at the Skydome since 00'...these were the total runs...
1.) 00'...11 runs
2.) 01'...17 runs
3.) 02'...14 runs
4.) 02'...1 run..(maroth vs. Halladay)
those are some reasons im leaning towrads the over...im watching the line movement...
