Rather than highjacking others threads as I usually do I am starting my own. I will focus on 3 games a week (about all I have time for when soccer is in full swing) that I will be playing together in a few ways (yes, I will play teasers in NCAA when I like the numbers). Will provide abbreviated write ups for each game.

Week 1 is always tough, but I have been waiting for lines to get favorable and they got where I wanted them to be today.

Florida +4.5
Maryland +18.5
Navy-9

Not buying the Michigan love despite the suspensions at FL. Florida will play great defense as always and I think Michigan will struggle some offensively to start the season as they are extremely young at most positions. I think it will take some time for them to get better as the season progresses. If Florida gets any kind of decent play from the QB position I think they win this outright.

Texas line is inflated in my opinion. Maryland played 16 freshmen last year and will be improved. They will run the ball much of the game, try to limit turnovers and hope their dual threat QB causes some problems. They also have many returning on defensive side of the ball, especially at LB, which should help limit the TX running game. While I really like the new Texas coach it will take him a while to get it together especially since he is not in love with his QB choices. Durkin is about to turn things around at Maryland (this year will be tough as they have a brutal schedule) and I think it will show. As long as it does not get out of control early I think it will be a closer game than most think. I also like the under in this game.

I really like Navy (warning, I am a Navy fan and tend to like them a lot!) this week as the Kiffin hype has gotten out of control. This line has dropped at least 5.5 points depending on where you look. Navy is a bitch to prepare for, especially when you take over a 3-9 team with lots of new players. You need to install your regular defense and then the one for the Navy game. Monty may be a defensive genius, but he can only work with what he has. Navy simply reloads every year and comes after you every play. Abey struggled some at the end of the year but did well in the bowl game. Word is he is confident and ready to go. Navy will wear them down over the game and take advantage of an undisciplined defense. Probably one of the last teams Kiffin would have picked to start the season with!

Good luck all!!

Love your Navy and Florida smoke. Not sure about the Maryland game, as I was leaning Texas because they very well could have the best coach in the country in Tom Herman, but will probably sit that one out.
Good luck BASON!

Thanks buddy!

I agree on Herman, but a lot of love is baked into this line. I really like Durkin also. He will get MD back on its feet in a couple years and be in line for a big time job just like Herman. It is a big game for him as a blowout will dampen fan and alumni enthusiasm. Most don't know it, but MD now has some of the best facilities in the country (their new indoor facility is amazing, thanks Under Armour!!). If MD can hang in this game early, I think it stays close. Their QB is very talented but needs some confidence. He has a true freshman breathing down his neck. I am thinking it takes Herman a few games to truly gauge the talent he has and I expect them to get better game to game.

Looking closely at Colorado now also. Looks like Col St may be getting too much credit for last week's win. Colorado blew them out last year and I like their defense.

Thanks Nuts!

Given Tulsa's lack of defensive prowess it is tough not the like the Oklahoma St. TT Ov 44 tonight. They give up an average of 47 points per game against power conferences and 55 per game against OK and OK St. this decade. Lots of hype around Ok State this year. Think they will want to show they are for real tonight.

It looks like Navy performed considerably better on the road last year than at home; so they evidently have no problem traveling.

Ok St TT was an easy play last night.

I am going to play the Navy TT Ov 38.5 tonight. I do not think FAU will be able to stop them and we should see a typical Navy steady climb to 42 points.

Putting in a Navy/Colorado ML parlay also that pays even money.

Adding a play on Washington TT Ov40. If they come to play tonight I do not see how Rutgers is going to stop them. Too many weapons and a weak Rutgers defense. I think they will take advantage of the rare opportunity to play on the east coast in prime time.

Navy, TT and parlay are winners! Washington TT loser.

Love Navy football! The Briles/Kiffin combo will be interesting to watch. You can not run that mickey mouse fast paced offense with bad players.

Was not impressed at all with Washington last night. Browning looked bad.

Nc State is getting a ton of action as that line has now moved to -6.5. I am putting them in a ML parlay with Alabama. Very close to even payout depending on the number you get.

I have enough on this MD game, but they are tempting to take +10.5 at the half.

TX has not scored on offense and has been gifted the 14 points. MD controlling the line of scrimmage, more physical and can run the ball which is setting up play action. Texas making too many mistakes.

You were spot on on the Maryland game bud! Thanks for steering me off Texas! My Wyoming smoke is not doing so well today...

Thanks Dee!

Have to hand it to Maryland, they were the better team. They will be a tough out for everyone this year. QB change is not a big deal for them as many thought Hill has the better camp but they didn't want to start him right away.

Now lets get the Gators for a big day!!

Had a chance to be a great day, but still a good day.

Florida sucks! Coach will be fired this year. No way you can have an offense this bad after being there for a few years. No excuse. He should be fired now!

Have to love College Football

Howard wins as a 45 point dog and Liberty wins as a 33 point dog!! Congrats to both schools. Nothing like getting a huge payday and winning!

Week 1 always proves how off the lines makers can be. MD+19, Cal+12.5 and SC+7.5 other outright winners and easy covers for Purdue, Portland State and Nevada amongst a couple others.

Alabama is going to be very tough once again to beat with that defense. Think the Big 10 showed well this week. Oh, and FL stinks.

Been waiting for movement on the VA Tech line, can now get a number I like.

Va Tech -4 -120

After Herman and Durkin, Fuente is one of my favorite young coaches. Once the offense catches up with the defense they have they will be a very hard out. I am not buying Grier, or any other current or former FL QB. I think Tech stops the run and wins the battle of the turnovers to take this game.

Nice win for Va Tech last night to complete a good weekend.

I will admit that I did not like some of the coaching moves they made last night. Just can't understand why they let Grier sit in the pocket with little pressure. Foster should have brought a lot more pressure in that game. Oh well, they still won and covered.

Onto next week. Some games I am paying attention to:

Stanford/USC
Navy/Tulane
L-ville/UNC
Ohio St/OK
Minnesota/Oregon State

Will likely be posting early as I will be traveling over the weekend.

Nice start to the college football season BASON! I have 3 of those 5 games you mention circled. As a HUGE Buckeye fan, I'm thinking the points are the way to go in that one, but I probably won't bet it. I like Navy and the Over and I don't understand the Oregon st/ Minny line, couldn't believe it was only 1!! I'm also leaning Stanford plus the points at this point.

We are mostly on the same page. I am not buying Oklahoma though. Think we see a typical Ohio State game here. Close first half and then they take it in the second half. Will likely use them in teasers.

I do not understand how Oregon State can be favored over any decent team. If Minny would have blown out Buffalo this line would be much different. I know it is at Oregon State, but not sure I can lay off Minny here.

Need to do a little more research, but I think I am going to be all over Stanford, especially if it gets to +7.

I know UNC lost at home to Cal, but I am leaning towards taking the 8 here. Louisville did not impress me at all last week.

And of course I will likely be on Navy. Need to do a little more research on Tulane, but I think Navy will get better each week.
