GAME NOTES: The Baylor Bears invade Stillwater this evening for a Big 12 Conference clash with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Baylor sits alone in fifth place in the Big 12 standings with a 5-3 record, and the squad is 17-5 overall. Unfortunately, the Bears have lost three of their last four games, including a 100-90 setback to national power Kansas on Saturday. As for Oklahoma State, its 2-7 conference mark is tied for worst in the league along with Colorado, and the Cowboys are 11-12 overall. They have lost seven of their last eight games, including a lopsided 82-61 setback to Kansas State on Saturday. Although Oklahoma State does own a commanding 46-14 series lead over Baylor, the Bears won the first meeting this season by a 79-71 final.

There are five players on the Baylor roster who are averaging double figures in scoring this season, and Curtis Jerrells leads the pack with 15.1 ppg. LaceDarius Dunn checks in with 12.4 ppg, and Kevin Rogers adds 12.3 ppg and 7.6 rpg. Henry Dugat is posting 11.6 ppg, and Aaron Bruce rounds out the group with 10.5 ppg. The Bears are scoring 81.1 ppg as a team, and they are permitting 71.5 ppg to the opposition on 41.4 percent shooting from the floor. In the 10- point loss on Saturday, Jerrells exploded for 30 points on 11-of-21 shooting against Kansas. Dunn hit 5-of-10 three-pointers en route to 23 points, and Dugat pitched in with 15 points. Unfortunately, the Bears permitted the Jayhawks to shoot 50.8 percent from the floor.

Through 23 games, Oklahoma State is scoring 69.2 ppg while allowing 66.2 ppg to the opposition. James Anderson leads the Cowboys with 14.8 ppg, and Terrel Harris adds 10.7 ppg. Unfortunately, the club is averaging fewer rebounds than the competition and is committing approximately 18 turnovers per contest. It isn't hard to figure out why Oklahoma State failed to remain competitive against Kansas State on Saturday, as the Cowboys turned the ball over 24 times. They also finished with 29 total rebounds, while the Wildcats ripped down 29 offensive boards. Harris scored 16 points in the setback, and Anderson posted 14 points.

Although Oklahoma State has the advantage of playing at home tonight, Baylor is simply the better team and will win narrowly.
