if the Bears have had their troubles at home under John Fox (1-8), the Cowboys haven?t won a home game without Tony Romo at quarterback since December 2010.

So a contrarian view has taken shape. Brian Hoyer looked awful in training camp and preseason, but Hoyer is a controlled professional in the tradition of Josh McCown, and last year with the Houston Texans put up six games with passer ratings of 94 or better (Cutler had seven for the Bears).

I do not like the look of the Bears defense without nose tackle Eddie Goldman and with a litany of others (Willie Young, Bryce Callahan, Adrian Amos) at less than 100 percent because of early season injuries. There is little to favor the Bears, which is why bettors placed them as clear underdogs.

But the belief here is that the offense will shed its passive mindset and attack with Jordan Howard and the running game, unlike the first two games. The first two games effectively turned on turnovers, and Hoyer last year had just one game in the 11 he played where he threw more interceptions than touchdown passes, before the meltdown in the playoffs.

If the Bears keep control of the football, they will wear down a mediocre Dallas defense, which is exactly the style of game Fox and Dowell Loggains want.

The NFL is tricky, but I know the Cowboys better than most. Tyron Smith(LT) is out as well as Scandrick, that might be a good thing though. Chaz Green will be playing in Smith's spot and he wears down as the game goes on. That will lead to two turnstiles on both ends of the OLine.

Dallas sucks at home and it doesn't help that it is a primetime game. We do not know how to blow anyone out with the play-not-to-lose offense from the red-headed not so genius Garrett. I have a feeling Hoyer will play above his head while Dallas always plays to the level of their opponents.

If Dallas can get the run game going(including Dak), they should cover the -6.5.........that is a big if. Usually when it gets going, they turn pass happy with alot of TE screens and dinks and dunks. So far, Dallas has not shown a deep passing game which allows the defenses to stack the line.

Dallas did get a bit more creative last week and it should continue this week but Dallas rarely does that two games in a row.

I do not bet on or against my boys, but I am pretty confident it will come down to the end. Even if Dallas has a 10-point lead, that defense will allow a trash TD for the Bears to cover.....IMO of course :0074
