It's here!!! The most anticipated game in the state of Oklahoma this entire basketball season. Regardless of what Jafagsoon has to say, this is the biggest game this year for the Pokes.

However, the Pokes, I feel, are going to have their hands full tonight vs Jeff Capels' stingy Sooners. OSU has played two games this year against teams with GREAT defenses (KU and Texas A+M) and we all know how those turned out. OSU only managed to shoot 32% FG's in BOTH games and had their asses handed to them. If OU can do anything it is play defense. OU's worst performance defensively came against Texas when they allowed Kevin Durant to go off for 28pts and 13 rebounds. In that game they were without star Center Longar Longar who is 6-11 and is a huge presence in the middle. (Avg's 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots per game) Otherwise OU has played lights out defense this year.

I feel the only reason the total is as high as it is is because of OSU's gawdy average in PPG. I would like to point out that they only managed a 53 point avg against the two previously mentioned teams. (KU and Tex A+M) OSU's defense has not been good against high powered teams (In transition especially) but this Sooner team is not one to push the ball and try to shove it down the opponents throat. This game will be played primarily in the half court set where BOTH teams excel defensively.

Looking a little deeper, 5 of the last 6 games played between these two teams have gone under todays posted first half total of 62. In fact, 2 of the 6 games have been played in the 40's.

So, with all that being said I like OSU/OU under 62 first half. I look for this game to be a grind to start and possibly heat up in the second half.

UNDER 62 FIRST HALF

GO POKES!!!
