Just curious what every one thinks.

Beltran is obviously a stud and that line-up is now very intimidating, but is Lidge ready to be the man?? That bullpen was set-up nicely, but now David Weathers is going to get some critical innings and Bullinger has to step into THE set-up spot. He's been great so far, but its a lot easier w/the Dotel-Lidge safety net in place.

Oakland has a closer now, I think, but Dotel has blown a few this year too.

Any thoughts appreciated:moon: ;)

Will be tough in the setup spot for Houston but I really like this Lidge guy....he has real nasty stuff and I think he has the capabilities to be a very good closer

Agree on Lidge. One run in 7 weeks, but only 3/5 saves so far. We'll see. The Cub Fan in me hopes he poops all over hisself, but he is NASTY.

I like Lidge better than Dotel as their closer --- BUT this leaves a gapping whole in their pen for the 7th and 8th inning during tight games.

Williams likes to go to the pen early and often; this puts more pressure on some of their other guys to step up.

But overall a good trade for Houston, I'm sure they won't resign Beltran but they didn't give up a ton to rent him for this year. With him in that lineup they really could be nasty.
