Making my first play of the young season on Wisconsin. Badgers come in to this one looking for revenge from last year and have the superior athletes on both sides of the ball. If you can bet this game now the line is moving up. Unless you like the boys from Fresno. This seems to me to be the strongest play of opening long college football weekend. Be back next week.

Buckwheat,

Wisconsin has 2 qb's better than what Fresno will put on the field. If you know football this is the most important position on the field. Also, the Badgers have back TB Anthony Davis who had 1466 yards last year and according to sources looked awesome in the spring game. In addition, all 5 starters from the offensive line return. Fresno may have better wide receivers but if the qb is questionable that makes their importance less.

In addition, Michigan St. rolled up 44 points in their bowl game with Fresno last year by smashmouthing the smaller boys from Fresno. I can see that happening here. Granted, Wisconsin is a juggernaut on defense and may allow a few points. I believe with the addition of PK Campbell who was an all-american in junior college this provides another edge for Wisconsin.

Finally, the most important edge to Wisconsin might be the revenge factor. Last year Fresno with David Carr went into Wisconsin and upset the Badgers as a 4 1/2 point underdog. Just don't see a big ten team letting a smaller school come in and beat them on their turf 2 yrs. straight. Especially when the guy who qb the visitor was the 1st pick in the NFL draft and will be starting in the NFL this year.

Hope I've made my point, but if I didn't fade my picks(you'll be sorry)!!!!!!

Strongly disagree, have always believed the center is the most important position on the field. Fresno State is sporting a new center this year in Rodney Michael, but he is a Senior and a very impressive one at that.

I think this Fresno State team can surprise a few people. Wisconsin is weekish on defense, returning only 3 starters...

** Note: WISC 1-6 ATS last 7 years in home openers **

Additional, last year Fresno St won by 12 as a 4 point dog @ Wisc.

acehistr8,

I respect your opinion that the center is the most important position on the field. Yet, I totally disagree. If you took a poll of people who are educated about football I think you would find most people would agree with me in saying the qb is the most important position on the field.

Also, if your going to cap the game using centers wouldn't you want the one who is a returning starter, like the rest of Wisconsin's offensive line.

Anyway I'm not trying to start a fued. I just believe in what I'm saying and I've already bet yesterday.

One final note the line went from 7 yesterday to 8 1/2 and 9 today. Looks like I'm not the only one who bet them early.

If you think center is the most imporant position than you should be looking at Wisconsin even more. Al Johnson is a three-year starter and generally regarded as the best center in America, listed as first team all-American in nearly every publication.

Edges

Edges

Bollinger better be very good in this game or Wisconsin may lose outright. I agree with you that the Badgers have the edge at QB and offensive line but they do not have the edge on defense or special teams. Both units were awful last year and that would be a huge concern if I were laying over a TD with Wisconsin. Fresno is always a live dog and look to be nearly as strong as last year. Losing Carr is big but Fresno has a lot of talent. Big line moves don't always work well -especially in college. I haven't played this game and may not but I can't take Wisconsin with all the question marks they have. And plus their best player Evans is out. Just throwing out an opinion for all those that are looking at the game.
