MLB:

SATURDAY:

GIANTS (37-50)

4:05 PM
FOX

DODGERS (40-48)

With Barry Bonds out and Jason Schmidt (6-5, 5.01) looking painfully human, the resurgent Moises Alou (12HR, 41RBI, .313) has been the lone bright spot for the Giants. Alou doubled and scored in Tuesday?s All Star game! Meanwhile the Dodgers are down this year but they too have a resurgent All Star in Jeff Kent (15HR, 60RBI, .304).

WHITE SOX (57-29)

1:20 PM
FOX

INDIANS (47-41)

Fresh of a throwing three shut out innings in the All Star game Mark Buehrle (10-3, 2.58) and Jon Garland (13-4, 3.38) take the hottest team in baseball into Jacobs field to meet the Indians and young slugger Travis Hafner (18HR, 63RBI, .319). The Indians absolutely must win this series in order to catch the White Sox.

SUNDAY:

PIRATES (39-48)

2:20 PM
WGN

CUBS (43-44)

The Pirates lone bright spot this year has been the play of exciting youngster Jason Bay (16HR, 44RBI .299). The Cubs have Triple Crown candidate Derek Lee (27HR, 72RBI, .379) making Cubs fans ask the question Sammy who? Meanwhile the pitching staff is finally healthy and ready to make a second half push for the NL wildcard.

YANKEES (46-40)

8:05 PM
ESPN

RED SOX (49-38)

This is arguably the most important series of the year for these two teams. The Red Sox are nursing a fragile two game lead over Baltimore and two and a half over the Yankees. This series can change all of that in a hurry. The Red Sox need a legitimate closer and the Yankees need their starting rotation to find a consistent groove in the second half.

BOXING:

Jermain Taylor (23-0, 17KO?s)
+140

Bernard Hopkins (46-2-1 32KO?s)
-170

This fight is being billed as ?Next in line? since many feel this may be the changing of the guards in the Middleweight division. At a time when most aged champions would be backing into retirement Bernard Hopkins continues to do things on his own terms. For Hopkins that means taking on the best of the best and that is Jermain Taylor, look out this one should be a classic.

, and making the final fights of his career the most meaningful."

WINNERS CIRCLE:

Ron V. From Joplin, Mo. Won $4,000 Saturday when the Cardinals had their wings clipped by the Giants 2-0. Ronald bet $2,000 at +200 for a whopping $4,000! Said Ronald ?The Cards are the only team I follow and I either bet on, or against them depending on a number of factors. I felt this was a nice spot for the Giants so I took a shot! Man the adrenaline was intense. By the 9th inning I was climbing the walls, what a rush when they got the final out!
